The Biden administration’s massive expansion of food stamp benefits is linked to at least a 15% rise in grocery prices, a new study said on Thursday.
President Biden’s Department of Agriculture rolled out revised nutritional standards for federal food benefits in 2021 that expanded the program by roughly 25% from pre-COVID pandemic levels.
Overall spending on the Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program (SNAP) more than doubled between 2019 and 2022, according to findings from the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) previewed by Fox News Digital.
It went from $4.5 billion in 2019 to $11 billion in 2022, the study said.

Oliver Anthony is right again
Go figure...
My first job back in high school was at a grocery store. The stuff they would buy with food stamps (actual paper stamps back then) was indeed maddening. The policy was to give coin change back for odd dollar purchases. Some welfare grifters would do multiple purchases of small items (you could buy gum with FS) and then consolidate all the change to buy a pack of cigarettes. We called them on it but there was nothing we could really do. And yeah, they'd almost always go get into a late model Caddy or other luxury car.
Subsidize something (prices) and you’ll always get more of it.
I thought Jo Jo’s meatheads in the “media” said there is no inflation. Sounds like Zelensky’s boy lied to us again.
Whose to blame for the other 35 percent?
anytime the government start subsidizing ANYTHING the price will go up!
This is just basic economics. When you increase demand = prices increase.
Nowadays they buy cases of “cheap” store brand soda then empty out the cans out in the parking lot.
go back inside and return the cans for their cash deposit.
I remember car dealers who would take food stamps as a down payment on a new car.
About three weeks ago, suddenly the self-check out registers at Safeway and QFC (Kroger) had huge lines.
People - usually man, wife, and children - who clearly did not know how self-scan works, were literally checking out hundreds of dollars of food items.
I assumed they were all part of the Biden Amnesty Scam, being resettled in East King County, with unlimited Food Stamps and subsidized apartments.
A couple days ago, a couple miles east of me, 53 apartments were destroyed by a raging day time fire.
All the victims are recent immigrants.
We have mandatory smoke alarms and sprinklers in all units and hallways. How 53 apartments could be destroyed is a mystery no local official has yet explained, and no local journalists are pushing for an answer.
5 foot three, three hundred pounds, and buying fudge rounds.
I’ve heard that in some places they buy cases of soda and sell them to convenience store owners for half price.
btt
Here’s one of the dozens of stories of big time fraud (not just standing on the sidewalk and selling the EBT value for a few dollars in order to buy liquor and drugs with the cash).
1.3 million dollars fraud by store owner Lakhbir “Lucky” Chahal (went to federal prison)

Everyone who signed off on deficit spending.
Got a little too greedy:
“Investigators claim records show Chahal’s two stores were redeeming roughly $30,000 per month total in food stamp benefits since 2010. Convenience stores in Flint average only $3,500 in monthly food stamp redemptions, according to the affidavit.”
