Uh oh, looks like someone at CNN didn’t get the memo that they’re supposed to blame everything on Climate Change.

Forgive a possibly ignorant question:

Lahaina is on the ocean. For an all out emergency like this, couldn’t salt water have been fed through pump trucks to save at least part of the city?

CNN is behind the curve. The guy with the water is a Pantheist and thinks Casper the Ghost lives in the streams and we must not disturb Casper even to save ~1000 lives and billions of dollars of property. The guy should move to kommiefornia. He’d be elected gov of the state.

Beat the drums! Dance around the fire! Save the water for the earth! The Green Movement is neanderthal thinking that wants to enslave the masses.

Global Warming killed hundreds of people on Maui.

Global Warming closed the roads.
Global Warming shut off the water.
Global Warming refused to trigger the Sirens.

Damn that Global Warming!

Why did he not divert the water first and ask for permission later?

Does he think writing a scathing bureaucratic screed will quiet the ghosts of the dead children that he let burn because of lack of water?

This is not a “man”, but a testicle-free trans-demon pretending to be large and in-charge.

Will Salt Put Out A Fire? - FirefighterNOW
Salt is a brilliant choice for fighting fires for three key reasons: it doesn’t burn, it has a high melting point, and it is effective at smothering a flame. The salt that you have at home as table salt is just a crystalized form of sodium chloride.

***********************************************************

Unless I’m missing something, Glenn Tremble is FOS. This fire, or a large part of it, was according to pictures, on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. No shortage of water there!

What we are seeing in Lahaina is that the bureaucratic mind is a dangerous, indeed murderous, thing.

Presuming there were firetrucks in Lahaina, a firetruck is nothing more than a PUMP. What’s the stated reason for NOT using them to pump water out of the ocean?

Fires happen, you would think someone at the Fire Department or the Emergency Management agency would have voiced concern that some hydrants were dry. Obviously there was no emergency management plan to deal with fires and I would suspect neither were their adequate plans for tsunamis or hurricanes. The Director of Emergency Management was a political hack without any experience in emergency management and likely just collected a fat salary for doing next to nothing.

When state, local, and federal governments and agencides are acting like Woke corporations, you aren't going to get a well-organized and effective response to an emergency.

You're going to get the government equivalent of this:

CNN is so dumb. Don’t they understand that water must be doled out in ways that are equitable? /S

I’ve only known this for 2 weeks. To them it’s breaking news. I guess they couldn’t sweep it under the rug any longer.

A letter? Unbelievable.

i am no expert but IIRC it is not possible to pump water using a pump at an arbitrarily high location above the water to be pumped— the pump needs to be located at the bottom.

as for salt water, dunno but three questions—

1. is it generally ok policy to use salt water to put out fires over dry land? especially if alternatives are possible, given potential harm to crops, etc.?

2. would salt water corrode fire hydrants and hydrant pipes?

3. what is the salt water policy of other beachfront communities?

Wondering why the water guy, siren guy and electric guy have not been indicted for manslaughter. Their actions represented gross negligence and incompetence; however if they are Democratic big whigs - never mind.

That he was so concerned about possibly violating protocol under emergency conditions and in an effort to save lives speaks volumes. What the hell is wrong with people?

So government stopped the water and the police blocked anyone from escaping except for people strong enough to circumvent the police.

Guess what that means? Murders occurred.

It’s amazing the disorder and out right slaughter the Democrats can superintend and never suffer among their voters. These people are crazy. I mean that.
