A new poll has found that 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump holds a nearly 35-point lead over his next closest competitors in the state of South Carolina.
The poll, conducted by the Trafalgar Group, found that 47.9 percent of likely GOP primary voters would vote for Trump if the election was held that day.
Trump’s next-closest competitor, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, is sitting at 13.8 percent support in the state, only slightly edging out Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), who sits at 13.6 percent.
Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley saw 8.4 percent of voters saying they’d choose her in the election, Chris Christie received 6.6 percent support, and Vivek Ramaswamy received 6.4 percent. The last candidate sitting above one percent is former Vice President Mike Pence, at 1.6 percent.
The survey of 1054 likely GOP primary voters was conducted between August 17 and 19 and has a margin of error of 2.9 percent.
Notably, the poll was conducted after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis handed down yet another indictment against Trump, the fourth one in a span of months, alleging violations of the state RICO Act in relation to attempts to overturn the 2020 election.
South Carolina will be the first state in the south to hold its primary election, which will take place on February 24, 2024, just shy of six months away.
The four indictments filed against Trump have done little to shake supporters, with voters instead rallying around the 45th president, who has seen a boost in some polls.
CNN has admitted that Trump could win the general election, with an analyst stating on Monday morning, "This idea that Donald Trump can't win the general election. I want you to lose that idea," adding that "this race is very, very close and Donald Trump is polling better right now than basically at any point during the entire 2020 cycle. After four indictments it just doesn't really seem to matter."
Wow.
Good.
So the claim is that Trump CANNOT win in November, but, somehow I guess, Vivek at 6.4% can win? PLEASE!
(p.s., I don’t bother with DeSantis anymore, he’s already eliminated himself)
Why are Scott and Haley running? There’s little interest in their own state. That even removes them from contention for a VP spot. It’s a waste of money and resources that could be otherwise used to fight the ultimate Rat nominee.
Trump the ONLY president who did not start stupid foreign wars or continued asinine foreign wars with borrowed money
Trump the only president who actually built a substantial wall on southern border in spite of resistance from deep state.
Trump gave us record low unemployment.
Trump gave us record low gas prices.

Trump nominated 3 good persons to SCOTUS.
Trump gave us biggest tax cut in history.
Trump stopped N Korea from launching rockets with just personal relationship with Kim. DeSantis or any others have no such personality.

Trump built strongest US military in history.
Lucrative book deals will follow more name recognition.

Agreed. This is not a typical primary season. Trump is way, way out front in the GOP race. Like him or not, he’s going to be the nominee. So it’s time to rally ‘round the flag, and focus exclusively on the Democrats.
But I guess DeSantis, Ramaswamy, Haley, etc. just can’t do that. Their egos get in the way.
Plus I’ll bet they are all secretly hoping that something bad happens to Trump. Maybe he’ll be thrown into Epstein’s old jail cell, or something like that.

I agree. It’d be great if DJT would follow your advice.
How does that Fat Ba$tard Christie have that much support?
