Those seeking to block a third option in 2024 are the real danger to democracy
The Hill ^ | 08/16/2023 | MARGARET WHITE,

In June, two dark money groups hosted private meetings in Washington, D.C. with senior Democratic congressional officials to plot against a third presidential ticket in 2024. Their target was the group No Labels, which is working to gain ballot access for a potential independent unity ticket featuring a Republican and Democrat as running mates. Those scheming to stop No Labels continue to fall back on a single word to describe the effort: Dangerous.

What’s so dangerous about providing voters an alternative to President Biden and former President Trump? According to these Democrats, a third ticket would help elect Trump by “stealing” voters from Biden. But their argument crumbles under the slightest bit of scrutiny. Data show that a third ticket’s effect on the race depends on who the candidate is. As Karl Rove, former senior advisor to President George W. Bush, argued recently in The Wall Street Journal, a Republican atop the No Labels ticket could easily cost Trump the election.

No Labels was a construct of the Starbucks CEO, Schwartz, IIRC.

Then, when it failed, he went right back to the demoKKKrat party. So, that’s all you need to know.

That was then. This is now. It’s Democrats fighting hammer and tongs to stop them.

“A third option would be fine if we had ranked choice voting.”

I didn’t vote for Perot. Bush family is the worst.

Losers like you voted for daddy Bush, which led to his loser son becoming POTUS.

Embrace the suck.

The epitome of Boomer Con cluelessness.

Gulf War 1.0 didn’t “win” anything except the opportunity to go back for trillions more and thousands of lives in Gulf War 2.0.

Both of the Bush clowns temporarily had sky high popularity, and they were two of the most damaging Presidencies of the post-war.

i repeat again: nothing Clinton did lasted as long or did the long term damage that the ADA, Clean Air Act or 1991 Civil rights.

The entire current CO2 insanity is entirely based on the bureaucracy using the Bush Clean Air Act.

That’s the one. The only mistake made there in that cakewalk was that Rummy and others talked Bush out of finishing the job.

Which was to take out Saddam.

When Perot dropped out Clinton’s numbers went up, Bush’s stayed the same.

Meanwhile here we are with two parties that stand for nothing, only combine for 60% of registered voters, regularly score around 50% combined in the approval polls, and yet hold 99.9% of elected offices. We need 3rd parties bad. There needs to be other voices. Maybe even people that believe in something other than getting re-elected.

When I worked for MCI and then the WorldCom scandal and being saved by Verizon, I often went to Richardson, TX for telecommunications training.

One of my instructors in one of the vendor courses I attended had worked for Ross Perot as the switch technician in his office building.   The Nortel Meridian SL-1 PBX Switch was on the ground floor and Perot's office was on the top floor.   I can't remember the instructor's name but, he said that Perot's secretary was young and easy on the eyes so he was glad to bring his switch reports upstairs to Perot every day.

One day as he was standing there nervously talking to the girl, he absentmindedly flipped a light switch on the wall a few times.   Ross Perot flew out of his office and in his high squeaky voice shouted, "we're having a brown out, we're having a brown out" and ran toward the elevator.   My instructor said he was shocked, but the secretary told him that was the light switch in Perot's office he had flipped off and on, and you had best get down there.   My instructor said he hightailed it down the back stairs and walked up to Ross Perot looking at the switch printouts for the power outage event that wasn't there.

I am just glad that we didn't have a President that would go off half cocked like that.

I ought to be amazed at what you say. But I'm not. I see these trolltastic comments a lot here at FR.

Both of the Bush clowns temporarily had sky high popularity, and they were two of the most damaging Presidencies of the post-war.

In plain English you and others on this thread are proud of Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, Clinton, Obama and even Pedo Joe.
