Those seeking to block a third option in 2024 are the real danger to democracy

In June, two dark money groups hosted private meetings in Washington, D.C. with senior Democratic congressional officials to plot against a third presidential ticket in 2024. Their target was the group No Labels, which is working to gain ballot access for a potential independent unity ticket featuring a Republican and Democrat as running mates. Those scheming to stop No Labels continue to fall back on a single word to describe the effort: Dangerous.

What’s so dangerous about providing voters an alternative to President Biden and former President Trump? According to these Democrats, a third ticket would help elect Trump by “stealing” voters from Biden. But their argument crumbles under the slightest bit of scrutiny. Data show that a third ticket’s effect on the race depends on who the candidate is. As Karl Rove, former senior advisor to President George W. Bush, argued recently in The Wall Street Journal, a Republican atop the No Labels ticket could easily cost Trump the election.

No Labels was a construct of the Starbucks CEO, Schwartz, IIRC.

Then, when it failed, he went right back to the demoKKKrat party. So, that’s all you need to know.

The real problem a third party candidate brings is that Dems can’t handle voter fraud easily with one.

The third party candidate will be used as cover for the use of the electronic voting machines.

A third option would be fine if we had ranked choice voting. You could vote for the third option if you want knowing that if no one got over 50% your vote could end up with your second choice

I don’t know. I think this year will change a lot. Especially if OMG media et al has a filmer come back with something damning during the primaries. If the GOP was smart, they’d just pass out hidden cameras to all their operatives. The GOP has nothing to hide.

Teddy Roosevelt when denied the GOP nomination ran as the Bull Moose candidate and that through the electoral college victory to - Woodrow Wilson.

Perot ran and we got Bill Clinton.

Tulsi would be a formidable Third Party candidate. JFK Jr would turn off too many conservatives.

Which President did more damage: the one that passed the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Clean Air Act, and the 1991 Civil Rights Act.

Or the one that signed Welfare Reform (and the Assault weapon ban, that expired after 10 years).

Which president won the Gulf War and had the highest approval rating of any US president and was not married to a Shillary? for all his faults - they are miniscule to what damage you Perot people did to America.
