Amelia had been intent on losing weight most of her life — but this concern had never caused the 35-year-old to consider ending her life.
Last summer, the Canadian woman was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and prescribed the wildly popular “miracle” drug Ozempic (semaglutide) by her doctor, who presented the drug as an easy way for Amelia to shed a few pounds and manage her blood sugar.
Amelia, who asked that her last name be withheld for privacy reasons, avoided filling the prescription for three months since she “didn’t want to focus on the number on the scale.” However, she agreed to begin the weekly injections — which cost as much as $1,350 a month — after finding people online discussing how the drug helped them maintain their glucose levels.

I think it is good for losimg ten pounds, then you should get off and stick with sustainable lifestyles.
I wonder how many have tried weight lifting and salads…
I know a number of people trying Ozempic and Wegovy which is another weight loss drug, I can’t imagine either one being good for you over the long term, when the only reason you’re using it is for weight loss.
I expect to hear in a few years, a bunch of ambulance chasing lawyer commercials with the words, “have you been harmed by Ozempic or Wegovy, call us we will sue the crap out of the drug company.
Lifestyle should bevthe main conduit to weightloss, but some people are well outside being able to make progress through lifestyle only. Having said that, definitely change the lifestyle.
Meghan Markle looks like she has been taking it. She was photographed wearing a coat in hot weather. Some people commented it can make you feel cold...but she was probably just merching items for pay.
People need to get back on the 70’s model diet…
Cocaine, Tab, and Marlboro Lights…
Yes - stop Ozempic and try Goonadiet.
Put a little dip between your check and gum sure feels relaxing in there.
Tab. I haven’t thought of that stuff since I saw battery terminals that needed cleaning.
Choices take time, but so did becoming morbidly obese.
I admit I wouldn’t know how to help someone who is extremely obese or has certain medical issues.
I’ve trained guys and got them in much better shape.
Numerous small changes over time add up.
Training and discipline over time become habit.
For those substituting this for a lifestyle, I agree. But somebody who weighs 600lbs, they need more help then diet.
Meth works.
In before “benefits outweigh risks.”

‘Hand-to-mouth disorder’ is real.
This is why people are always chasing the ephemeral trends of pills and fad diets.
The real key to losing weight is exercising every day and limiting your diet to fresh foods in as much of their natural state as possible.
That requires discipline and is very difficult to sustain in the modern world, where you can't even go to a business meeting without an entire table laden with snacks and high calorie drinks.
I agree that there is substitution for lifestyle changes, for those consistent small changes. However, I dont have a problem with speeding the process up with a drug, as long as it is intermittant. Drop 10lbs, stay off for a couple of months while you make those requisite changes. Then another 10lbs. Until you get to a manageable weight.
“discipline”
It’s easy to suggest, but in practice it’s laughable for the majority and the businesses behind consumer marketing - from foods to services to pharmacology, including the regulators - all know it.
Same class, imho.
