Police in Democrat-run Oakland, California, are urging residents to use airhorns as a way of sounding an alarm when criminals strike amid a surge in crime.
Crime has risen to a point where police are not only advising the purchase of airhorns but also the placement of “security bars to…doors and windows,” CNN noted.
Burglaries in the city are up 41 percent “and robberies by more than 20 percent.” Oakland resident Toni Bird indicated that she followed the advice of police and now has three airhorns.
Bird said, “The types of crime that we’re seeing feel much more violent and the consequences feel much more severe. And it feels like the people that are being targeted are people who are vulnerable.”

Airhorns will just mean more people will be alerted to video the incident so that anybody tempted to stop a non-white criminal will feel less inclined to do so.

In the end criminals will account for 90% of airhorn sales/thefts. The streets will be so flooded with airhorns blasting it’ll drive people crazy.

I am reminded of the scene in “The Other Guys”. The Police officer played by Will Farrell has already had his gun taken by his chief (Michael Keaton) because Farrell is irresponsible. As a replacement, the chief had given Farrell a wooden gun. That seemed like the most firepower that Farrell could handle. But then he screwed up again. This time, the chief took away the wooden gun and gave Officer Farrell a rape whistle.
Considering the amount of crimes in Oakland, the number of airhorns being used would be akin to the bombing of London in WWII.
