I’m not sure this is overreach. There is no federal “shield law” that protects journalists in a case like this. In fact, I think the country would be done a great favor if sources of FBI leaks were identified as a matter of course.

Hate to say it, but I think I’m with the judge on this one. Looks like the FBI leaked information about an investigation to help frame a scientist. Don’t know whether or not the scientist is guilty, they may have been. But this is not legitimate for the FBI to be stacking the deck by releasing everything through the back door to the public. If you have evidence, make a charge and go to court.

Yes, I read the article. The subtle point of my comment was that given how utterly corrupt the DC federal bench is, I didn’t even need to read it to know it was a DC judge.
