Most Americans oppose Congress authorizing additional funding to support Ukraine in its war with Russia, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, as the public splits over whether the US has already done enough to assist Ukraine.
Overall, 55% say the US Congress should not authorize additional funding to support Ukraine vs. 45% who say Congress should authorize such funding. And 51% say that the US has already done enough to help Ukraine while 48% say it should do more. A poll conducted in the early days of the Russian invasion in late February 2022 found 62% who felt the US should have been doing more.
Partisan divisions have widened since that poll, too, with most Democrats and Republicans now on opposing sides of questions on the US role in Ukraine.
A majority, but not all (68%) of those who say the US should do more to support Ukraine favor additional funding, as do 23% of those who say the US has already done enough.
When asked specifically about types of assistance the US could provide to Ukraine, there is broader support for help with intelligence gathering (63%) and military training (53%) than for providing weapons (43%), alongside very slim backing for US military forces to participate in combat operations (17%).
Republicans broadly say that Congress should not authorize new funding (71%) and that the US has done enough to assist Ukraine (59%). Among Democrats, most say the opposite, 62% favor additional funding and 61% say that the US should do more.

You forget this country has already been taken over by Commies from within, and Russia wasn't even involved...but China was. And what better time for any world power to attack us, since the Democrats have literally destroyed this country, the U.S. Constitution, our election system, the Presidency, and the military. We're sitting ducks, and Russia wasn't even involved. But China was.
Take the U.K. for example. Long before WWI, they were a group of islands mostly dependent on imports to survive. During WWI and WWII, when the shipping lanes were targeted by the Germans, their ability to import necessary items was drastically impeded. Did they do anything after WWI to try to make themselves more independent on imports? No! In WWII, Britain had to ration everything, and continued rationing into the mid-50's. Have they done anything since WWII to make themselves less dependent on imports? No! So why should the U.S. be concerned if the U.K. has chosen to continue to be morons when it comes to being able to provide for themselves? Where does our concern stop? Does it stop after we've destroyed our own country by worrying about other countries, that we know would either never be willing, nor able to come to our aide if it was us that needed the help? Why is this crap always one-sided?
Biden will seek a quick exit before the election, but like when he is on stage, he doesn’t know how to exit.
That’s because try as the did to keep the truth from the American people, we still found out that funding Ukraine was nothing but Joey paying his blackmailers with our money.
Carlson was probably caught off guard with that response from a presidential candidate.
Hardest hit? Nah they'll just take the jingoism, propaganda and hilarious, "Baghdad Bob-style" gaslighting to the next, manic level.
When the body bags start coming back attitudes will change.
We are around the same age. My father was a bomber pilot in ETO during WWII. Both my brother and I served during the Vietnam War. I have a nephew currently serving in the US Army who at this very time is in Eastern Europe. A family member was lost in the GWOT. I noticed, however, that you mentioned nothing about YOU ever having served; just other members of your family. Yet, you subscribe to a Civil War regiment as a screen name. So, perhaps you like to surround yourself with a military aura, but did not personally earn it. That’s okay; and is kind of like kids who never played a down of football in their lives hanging posters of some pro football star on their bedroom walls.
But, like you, I have also studied history ever since I was a little kid; and I still read history— avidly. My university degree is in history.
“With all your jibber-jabber, you still didn’t explain what national security interest there is for the U.S. in Ukraine.”
Is our economic health a national security interest? Is our global trade and commerce a national security interest?
Is keeping close tabs on countries that wish us ill, and have wished us ill for generations a national security interest? Is the fact that — because of modern armaments and weaponry with international ranges — we no longer enjoy the security of the once formidable buffers of two huge oceans (two oceans that at this very moment have submarines and warships from countries that wish us ill sailing in those waters) not a national security interest?
You may read history, but I think perhaps you failed to comprehend it. Because history is chock full of unprepared or naive countries or societies being crushed by other countries or societies that WERE prepared and were anything BUT naive when it came to what they wanted, and how to get it.
We don’t live in Pollyannaland. We live in the real world; a world filled with the most barbarous, treacherous, untrustworthy, venal, and warlike creature ever to draw breath: Man. THAT is the real story of history. That is reality. And we must forever be on guard because of that reality.
If you are so gung ho for this misadventure, why not send our/your children?
Money flowing in a gutter of wasted blood.
What Kerch bridge doink?
Nope. She and the Youkazoid crew will just jack up the propaganda, crazy claims, jingoism, bloodlust and boisterous proclamations of "Youcrayne's winning!!, RuZZia's getting destroyed!, Putin is dying!, Putin will be deposed!, everyone luv Youcrayne and respect President Zelenkskyyyyy nonsense to a new, hyper-manic level that'll make Baghdad Bob look like a sober realist in comparison.
Quasi-religious fervor and rabid, unquestioning belief in a cause, thing or entity, either real or imagined, does that to some folks.
Like leftists wedded to their fantastical, crazy, murderous ideology, even at the cost of relationships with family and friends, the more extreme Youkazoids are completely emotionally invested in Youcrayne "winning," whatever that means at this point. And even if Youcrayne is reduced to looking like a Mad Max movie set, (and it's quickly approaching that point), its army in ruins, its people living in caves, they will joyously proclaim that Youcrayne has actually achieved victory over RuZZZZZZZZZia because blablabla (insert bullshit here).
Watch and learn. . . and try not to laugh too hard when "Baghdad Bob" time arrives.
Nice try, kid.
They DO wish for Russia to prevail. Do you even know the definition of the word, “wish,” as a noun? A most concise definition is: “a desire or hope for something to happen.”
Hell, even as a verb: “feel or express a strong desire or hope for something that is not easily attainable.” Look it up, kid.
They desire or hope (i.e., wish) for Russia to prevail (as they have been saying for over a year that it would prevail within days, or at most just a few weeks). And, if it were so easily attainable it would have happened more than a year ago. So, of course, it is NOT easily attainable. Hence, it is a wish.
And you claim savviness? You who implied that the Cold War between the US and the Soviet Union ended in 1972?
Son, besides being a prolific liar, you also lack critical thinking; you have no credibility at all.
It must truly suck to be you.
Creative and FUNNY! I enjoyed that!
It must truly suck to be you.
That’s how I always feel about your family. All that mean nature can’t be just limited to FR.
Did you forget about no personal attacks?
Oh I guess that is beyond your critical thinking.
“also had a great-uncle who served in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in WWI, who was killed in France two months before the Armistice”
My Grandmothers older brother was killed November 7 1918.
All that was returned was some personal effects and his Bible.
Now I retain his Bible in my personal effects.
“Anyone with a sense of common decency should be Sickened by the utter waste of Ukrainian lives.”
That waste lies entirely on Russia, which started the war in February, 2014 when it first invaded Ukraine; and, of course, since February, 2022 when it escalated it.
“It is a fools errand and we are footing the bill.”
EVERYBODY foots the bill, or “pays a price” when there is a war. Wars tend to have global effects. But what has a bigger global effect is allowing aggression to go unchecked.
“Get yourself a cup of tears while they’re flowin’”
No tears here, kid. I’m a realist.
now that the collapse of Project Ukraine is eminent, you will not be allowed to weasel yourself back to the middle ground by blurring your posting history. You are a Biden/Zelensky/NATO sycophant and I will not let you forget it. Now run along. I understand the kitchen has a fine selection of soft foods tonight.
He’s an exceptionally angry 😡 olde man.
Good idea before Biden gives em nukes and gets us into a hot war.
Look, you have broken the NO POST agreement between us twice in the last couple days. Therefore, that agreement is null and void. As such, you are now fair game.
"CNN Poll: Majority of Americans oppose more US aid for Ukraine in war with Russia"
If more post-17th Amendment ratification, Trump-supporting Democratic and Republican patriots were up to speed with the federal governments's constitutionally limited powers, they'd be able to point out the following MAJOR problem with US foreign aid.
The states never expressly constitutionally given the federal government the specific power to tax and spend in the name of foreign aid, foreign aid therefore unconstitutional imo.
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
In fact, Justice Joseph Story had pointed out that peacetime foreign aid is unconstitutional.
“If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).
The bottom line concerning renegade state and federal governments trying to destroy our constitutional republic is this. Patriots need to support Trump 47 in putting the country back on its constitutional foundations by primarying ALL state and federal incumbent lawmakers and executives up for reelection in 2024 imo, except for MTG, Gaetz, (others?).
After all, lawmakers and executives continue to show that they do not have the patriotism and leadership skills necessary to find legislative support for effective remedies for unconstitutional government policies.
Exclusive: Marjorie Taylor Greene ‘Dumbfounded’ GOP Colleagues Will Not Call for Biden’s Impeachment! (6.10.23)
In fact, consider that since one of the very few powers that the states have expressly constitutionally given to the big, bad federal government to dictate peacetime domestic policy is to run the US Mail Service (most federal domestic policy actually based on stolen state powers imo), the worst problem that the country would otherwise be looking at with a new Congress of Trump-supporting freshman lawmakers is arguably a delay with mail delivery.
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 7: To establish Post Offices and post Roads;"
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Trump can endorse candidates from lists that patriots who respect the federal government's constitutionally limited powers provide for him, as long as candidates are not incumbents, candidates also promising to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments after they win office.
The definition of insanity is reelecting your beloved career state and federal lawmakers and executives over and over again, expecting those same politicians to find remedies for unconstitutional government policies every time.
Patriots, let's not allow ourselves to be fooled for third time in 2024 by the corrupt, constitutionally undefined political parties that have pirated control of state and federal governments.
