Advocates for electric vehicles have once again been hit with a rather inconvenient fact.
With gas prices surging, the Biden administration has been relentlessly urging Americans to switch to electric vehicles as an alternative, with the supposed added benefit of being able to stop climate change.
The idea behind this push seems to be that it is cheaper to charge an electric vehicle than it is to fuel a car in the current economy. Thus, Americans who use EVs can rest assured that they do not have to worry about the price of gas.
However, a new report is bringing all of that into question, suggesting that it may in fact be more expensive to charge an electric vehicle.

Don’t you have to keep topping it up if you don’t drive it like a stupid phone
I think most understand that. They pay an electric bill every month. People understand it will double the bill if they get to have a home charger. Probably outside the home, the price will be more. They need to get the chargers to have no more than 10 minutes. One reason you don’t see electric cars flying off the showroom Is time for recharge.
that all could be true, considering it was a ‘study’, but with all those ‘smart meters’, how soon could ‘they’ begin to calculate your vehicle usage, and punish those running all about town (more than ‘they’ desire you to)?
They are earth friendly if you don’t count the open pit mines in China and Africa being mined by child slave labor. Never mind it is cancer causing hazardous materials, but those housewives in the Starbuck lines are saving Mother Earth.
If only people knew how to calculate Total Cost of Ownership, the cost of the electricity wouldn’t be the only thing they are concerned about.
Well, energy costs aside, greenies need their electric cars so they can virtue signal on their way to the next protest against a lithium mine.
When is THIS deceit going to fall apart?
Another Fact:
Insurance rates for electric vehicles tend to be higher compared to their gasoline-powered counterpart.
Well, dang. You'd think the whole thing was a scam or something.....
I do. I did.

You forgot catching fire and burning your house down
..or going dead in the middle of a freeway
..or going dead in the middle of a snow storm
..or the need to replace the batteries every few years
..
On top of that, if you point out the higher costs of electric vehicles, you become an enemy of the state.
EVs. Bagpipe and Harpsichord duos: The stupid solutions to very stupid questions.
And that charge that you put in the battery will gradually leak off while the EV sits idle. Eventually, the entire charge will be gone and all your money wasted.
A gas car can sit in the driveway for months, with only slight loss of gasoline.
I have no problem with EVs. I have a problem with government subsidies for EVs and using my tax dollars to pay those subsidies. I have a problem with government telling me what to buy. I have a problem with government pushing everything electric when the electricity grid can’t handle it. It have a problem with my freedom to choose being slowly eroded. I have a problem with virtue signaling stupid chits with their holier than thou attitudes thinking they have a right to tell me what to buy and drive.
Don’t forget the batteries exploding if there’s salt water contact. Remember the EVs batteries exploding when they got caught in floodwaters of the Florida hurricane a while back? They were so hot Firemen couldn’t put the flames out .
As well they should be, it doesn’t take much damage to an electric car to total it.
“...it may in fact be more expensive to charge an electric vehicle.”
And here’s another fact for you:
We have a shortage of electricity as our cities are going through black outs and brown outs while states like California are having to buy it from other states.
We have enough oil left in the United States within tapped reserves equivalent to 4.9 times its annual consumption. This means that, without imports, there would be about 5 years of oil left at current consumption levels and excluding unproven reserves that are still out there. We haven’t even begun to tap the Rockies and are using less than 10% of ANWAR.
So that lie is that they are not calling the reserves we haven’t pumped as part of the determination of available power sources. It’s huge in comparison to the amount of electricity that can be produced using current tactics. That’s why petroleum is called a natural resource. It is already provided.

I don't get your comment. Topping it off is no more expensive than running on empty. Only difference is when an EV is on the road and runs out of power you have a very big problem. You just can't put some new energizers in and go like a bunny again.
When is THIS deceit going to fall apart?
At what ever point the grid can not sustain these vehicles.
My guess is when 5-10% of the vehicles on the road are EVs.
Then suddenly most everyone will realize they’ve been duped.
I say most everyone .. because about 20-50% of the population flat out lives in a fantasy world. They have no idea..nor, do they really care, how things work.
