Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Dratted internet issues. They are a pain. At least you can get on with your iPhone.
Glad your recovery is still going well. I know you’re getting antsy to get Gizmo home again.

98 Year old Marine Flamethrower Operator Who Survived the Battle of Iwo Jima During World War II
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCtMZDRC1S0
Don Graves, a WWII combat vet, was inspired to join the United States Marine Corps, after President Roosevelt’s iconic “Day of Infamy” speech addressed to Congress on Dec 7th, 1941, requesting a declaration of war against the Empire of Japan. Although underage at the time of the Pearl Harbor attacks - Graves enlisted 6 mos later at age 17.
Christened as the unit’s new flamethrower, Graves was shipped off to “Island X” where he engaged in intense combat as his unit fought their way to summit Mount Suribachi. In this interview, Graves vividly describes the grueling hardships endured by these soldiers & the harsh conditions they confronted for 36-days while battling Japanese forces.
Remarkably, Graves emerged as the sole survivor amongst flamethrowers from his unit & was a witness to the historical moment when the Marines raised the American flag on Iwo Jima.
