Four out of every five humans alive experienced at least one day of abnormally hot temperatures in July — a global onslaught of extreme heat that would not have been possible without climate change, according to new research.
The sweltering month appears to have been the hottest month ever recorded on the planet, although official verification from federal meteorological agencies is still pending.
But an analysis of daily temperatures in 4,700 cities found that climate change-attributed heat touched 6.5 billion people — or 81% of the world's population — in July. The report, released Wednesday by nonprofit news organization Climate Central, measured the impact using the Climate Shift Index, a tool that compares the current climate to one without excess heat-trapping emissions.
Global exposure peaked July 10, when 3.5 billion people experienced a Climate Shift Index level of 3 or higher, indicating that human-caused climate change made unusually hot temperatures at least three times more likely, the report said. At least 2 billion people felt a CSI level 3 or higher on each of the 31 days in July.
"There's nothing about this that is normal," said Andrew Pershing, vice president of science at Climate Central, during a press briefing Tuesday.

Summer had little to do with it.
If you don’t like the weather, wait 15 minutes OR MOVE!
That about the percentage of people who live in the northern hemisphere, who all got hot, in the summer.
The random & mysterious failure of electrical meters at dem homes this winter should prove entertaining.

[[ a global onslaught of extreme heat that would not have been possible without climate change]]
Yeah because, you know, .it’s not like heating has ever happened before and melted miles high glaciers or anything. It’s not like the upper Eastern seaboard of the US ever saw ,warming which opened up huge swaths if land that were buried under miles of ice or anything. Nope, none of that ever happened before man came along and burned a few sticks
Heat dome. It will be gone by next week.
An unprecedented amount of water, enough to fill nearly 60,000 Olympic-size swimming pools of water, shot up in the atmosphere and could warm our atmosphere in the future.
Water vapor is a greenhouse gas that traps heat and prevents it from dissipating into the atmosphere.

Absolute nonsense.
I’ve lived in the South my entire life, so far. It’s no worse this year than it’s ever been, and frankly I’ve experienced hotter summers. Highs have been hovering in the 90s the last week or so. Still cools down at night. Normal for July in GA. Hasn’t broken 100 this year. Until the people responsible for spreading this nonsense get punched in the nose it will only get worse.
It is August 2nd. That is plenty of time to do scholarly, exhaustive research on weather that lasted up until day before yesterday.
Climate change the new words for global warming but they’re getting it wrong again ,LOL
There were hominids back then. Clearly, the cause was the heat generated by the rising tide of racism speciesism in America.
Or near the equator.
Man! It has affected me! I sweated 2 days ago. Of course I’ve sweated the last 35 summers in the South!
“Attributed”...falsely blamed upon.
At least one day...
OMG, it’s true, it is the end of the world.
For 30 days the temperature was equal to or less than normal
in almost all of those places.
I just got my electric bill for July 2023:
“Electric
You used
0.9%
Less
Electric compared to this month last year”
It’s just one more piece of data indicating that the climate change crisis is a fraud, a big lie, a scam.
And absolutely no mention of the underwater volcano that erupted last year, increasing water vapor in the stratosphere by 13%, which NASA said would warm the earth for years to come.
But yes, SUVs are to blame. LOL.

This summers heat wave was predicted last year by NASA, and NASA related the prediction to volcanic eruptions in Tobga in 2021.
“The huge amount of water vapor hurled into the atmosphere, as detected by NASA’s Microwave Limb Sounder, could end up temporarily warming Earth’s surface.”
