Kremlin threatens use of nuclear weapons in retaliation for drone strike on Moscow skyscrapers....

The Kremlin today bluntly threatened use of nuclear weapons in the wake of the Ukrainian drone strike on Moscow's skyscraper zone.

Three drones struck an elite office building and residential skyscraper in Moscow early Sunday morning in what Russia's Defence Ministry has branded an 'attempted terrorist attack by the Kyiv regime'.

Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian president and Putin ally, has warned there is 'simply no other way out' and said that Kyiv should 'pray to our warriors' that they do not 'allow the global nuclear fire to flare up'.

Moscow said it had brought down three Ukrainian drones early on Sunday that had been trying to attack the capital. It also claimed its forces had thwarted a Ukrainian attempt to attack Russia-annexed Crimea with 25 drones overnight.

Crimea, annexed by Russia in 2014, has been targeted by Kyiv throughout Moscow's Ukraine offensive but has come under more intense, increased attacks in recent weeks. Kyiv has repeatedly said it plans to take Crimea back.

The suspected Ukrainian attack inflicted the kind of terror on Moscow that Vladimir Putin's armed forces have imposed on Kyiv and other Ukrainians cities during the war.

Medvedev on Sunday - Russia's Navy Day - slammed the Ukrainian offensive, warning: 'Our Armed Forces, repelling the counteroffensive of the collective enemy, protect the citizens of Russia and our land.

'This is obvious to all decent people. But beyond that, they prevent world conflict.

'After all, if we imagine that the offensive of the [Ukrainians] with the support of NATO was successful, and they seized part of our land, then we would have to, by virtue of the rules of the decree of the President of Russia dated 06/02/2020, go for the use of nuclear weapons.

'There is simply no other way out.

I watched Dr Strangelove last night. It seems like the characters in it are just as reasonable as in reality.

Medvedev ominously warned that the Kremlin would have “no other option” but to ignite “a global nuclear fire” if Ukraine’s counteroffensive on Russian soil is successful.

The Zeepers may have a different outlook if God forbid, someday they, their children and grandchildren are about to be incinerated. It’s all fun and games until someone lets a nuke out. Of course this post will bring them out, claiming I am a fool for being needlessly concerned.

I’ve been watching Babylon 5 on Tubi. Just finished season 2 and starting season 3. Some of the scenarios are hitting too close to home for comfort. The Ministry of Peace, the Night Watch and its war on disinformation/misinformation potential sedition...

None of them have skin in the game, and none seem concerned for the US.
Thousands of Ukraine thread posts, and only a handful of other topic posts.

Yep. Try and find an America-centered post by UMCRevMom. Unfortunately, the mods here on FR seem to be oddly sympathetic to her. Many posts challenging her ( totally within FR guidelines) are removed. Some of her posts are very ugly, celebrating Russian deaths, but they remain.

The series was shot over five years. Each episode is stands on its own, but there is a story arc. In fact, in the very first episode, there is a clue to a character’s end in the last. The lead actor in the first season is replaced for the rest of the series. Many of the main actors have died. But have a look out for Stephen Furst, who played Flounder in Animal House—he turns out to be very important.

Most think that seasons two through five are the best, although I enjoyed season one. They were told the series would be canceled at the end of year four, so they hurriedly wrapped up the story line by the end of year four only to then be told there would be a season five. It’s why season five seems a bit pointless to the overall plot. I think the very last episode of season five was actually shot in season four if that makes any sense. It completes the story.

Anyway, give it a look.
