Local and state investigators have stepped up their efforts to crack down on illegal street racing events in recent months.
AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety is helping the Austin Police Department investigate at least four illegal street takeover events that happened in Austin late Saturday night. Multiple takeover events were reported across town Saturday night into Sunday morning.
KVUE's media partners at the Austin American-Statesman reported car meetup and takeover events at 8601 Research Blvd., 9900 S. IH-35, the 400 block of Center Ridge Drive and at the intersection of Barton Springs Road and South Lamar Boulevard.

In Seattle they do this all the time, with bystanders hit by cars or arguments start that end with shootings. Nothing is done to stop it.
Although there were calls to find some kids and send them to prison for hate crimes when they did donuts that “defaced” one of the gay pride colored crosswalks.
Teens in cars acting rowdy (AKA “Sideshows”)....becoming quite common nowadays.

austin has been that way since late 70’s.
Before that it was a nice place that doubled in size while UT was in session. I left that $}{!T}{O£€ in the early 90’s and don’t miss it at all and haven’t been back since then.
I currently reside in Austin. I love it for the music, the food, being ostensibly in Texas. I dislike it for the outrageous property taxes and the idiot local politicians.
I’m thinking about moving to Boston to minimize the sunny days as I like being outside but unfortunately keep getting basal cell and melanoma.
Texas is clinging to what is left of a red state by their finger nails.
It happened here in Pittsburgh PA - drag racing on an interstate highway bridge in last week or so. It is another national black crime issue.

I grew up in the UP. Plenty of sunshine, all year around.
My employer’s sister does the snowbird thing-you could try that-she lives out here on her brother’s property from early November to about mid-April, when it is freeze-your-ass-off below 0 in the snow cold in Oregon, where she lived originally full-time. She goes back to rural Oregon where she has a cabin and stays for the rest of Spring and Summer, where it is not as hot and sunny all the time like here. You could try that-it works for her-there are a lot of snowbirds out here every Winter...
