Standing on a bridge overlooking the road to Odesa’s main port, Nina Sulzhenko surveyed the damage wrought by a recent Russian missile strike: The House of Scientists, one of the Ukrainian city’s best-loved buildings, was in shambles. The mansion’s destroyed gardens spilled down over a ruined residential complex, and burned bricks lay strewn across the sidewalk.
“I feel pain, and I want revenge,” said Ms. Sulzhenko, 74. “I don’t have the words to say what we should do to them.”
She gestured toward other buildings in various stages of ruin. “Look at the music school! Look at what they did! The fact that those who live next to us, and lived among us, could do this to us — we can never forgive this. Never.”
Hers was a common sentiment in Odesa this past week after a series of missile strikes damaged the city’s port and 29 historic buildings in its Belle Époque city center, including the Transfiguration Cathedral, one of Ukraine’s largest.
Odesa plays an important role in the mind of imperial Russians, and especially President Vladimir V. Putin, who views it as an integral part of Russian culture. But if Mr. Putin believed that Odesans would feel a reciprocal bond, he could not have been more mistaken, residents and city officials interviewed this past week said. Especially after the recent spate of missile attacks.

Some are probably extremely relieved that the US bio labs there have been destroyed.
Nice, buildings. Did she say anything about all the dead men?
When the Russian Army is taking Odessa, she can give them hell.
New York Slimes.
Such a reliable source. Of fake news.
Surely these complainers realize that Putin’s hand was forced by Biden and NATO. Was he supposed to allow ethnic Russian women and children to be shelled by Kiev?
If Ukrainians had any brains, they would have learned from Mexico to never antagonize bigger neighbor next door by pushing to join enemy camp. Mexico never wanted to follow Cuba or join Soviets.
Ukraine either surrenders unconditionally or Odessa will be part of the Russian Federation by the end of the war.
I haven’t heard anything about the russian counter offensive in a while. Are they in Odesa yet?
Ask her if she feels the same way about her own government that has been bombing ethnic Russians in the Donbas since 2014.

They probably wouldn't put their soldiers in regions they are attacking with missiles.
Except it wasn’t a Russian missile but an Ukrainian SAM that did the damage. Was it a false flag? They have a history of doing that. Ask Poland.
To never forgive is to mean they forgive the Russians for Holodomor.
The only GOOD Russian is a DEAD Russian.
Send in the assination squads and take out Putin.

If you take out Putin, you will get a hardliner instead.
That would be worse for Ukraine.
Seems like another one of those eastern European “ancient racial hatred vendetta” things. They’ve all got some grudge going back a couple of centuries where somebody stole the other guys cow.
Since that was not happening it cannot be used as an excuse for Russia's invasion.
She won’t have to.
Russia lost the Kherson bridgehead last year. Its going to take a lot to create a force capable of a large scale river crossing.
I don’t see it that way, take out Putin and Zelensky too and put up a DMZ zone, protagonists both dead, war over.

Globohomopedos are the aggressors. Take them out too.
