Chinese automakers are looking to flood the United States market with cheap Electric Vehicles (EVs) as President Joe Biden’s administration has made a rapid all-electric, green energy push without having first ensured domestic manufacturing capacity.

According to Axios, Chinese automakers like BYD Co. Ltd., Li Auto, Xpeng Motors, Nio Inc., and Geely are looking to the U.S. market to sell cheap EVs to Americans as the Biden administration makes its push for an all-electric economy.

> It’s probably more than the president. Corruption does not work in a vacuum… <

Well said. On Biden’s side are the Democrats, the GOPe, and 90% of the media. In that kind of environment Biden could extort money from homeless widows and nothing would happen to him.

BYD Co. Ltd.

That company is China's rip off of BMW. Due to tariffs, a real BMW imported into China will cost 3 times the price. How's that "free trade" unicorn working out for you?

It’s a bit of a side story, but many decades ago I worked security for a major university. And I always took holiday shifts. They were double time and a half.

So there I was, patrolling university buildings on holidays. Those buildings were empty, except for the Chinese students. They were in the science libraries and in the research labs.

I always got a friendly smile and a wave from those folks. I wonder how many of those b*stards were reserve members in the Chinese Army. Probably most of them.

"Sounds like a plan - the units will sit on lots, getting weathered, no one will buy them ..."

All the ones sitting and rotting on lots now in China are what they are going to try to dump on us. Hopefully the NHTSA will do their jobs and stop this nonsense. Chinese ICE cars are death traps, these will be worse.

Considering China is the dominant global source of the minerals EVs need for the batteries - lithium, cobalt, nickel - and that Slow Joe is closing domestic mines or revoking permits at warp speed AND that Xi must know that enviro virtue signaling is like a religion in America I’d say this is a smart business move.

Translation: China looks forward to sinking merchant ships and burning out parking garages by selling cheap electric vehicles.

This is one product where I oppose all tariffs and protection.

Let them destroy the US car companies producing this garbage, and NO BAILOUTS !

Scoop up the factories that build real vehicles after the bankruptcies.
