It’s a bit of a side story, but many decades ago I worked security for a major university. And I always took holiday shifts. They were double time and a half.
So there I was, patrolling university buildings on holidays. Those buildings were empty, except for the Chinese students. They were in the science libraries and in the research labs.
I always got a friendly smile and a wave from those folks. I wonder how many of those b*stards were reserve members in the Chinese Army. Probably most of them.
Those Chinese “students” were and are CCP subjects.
They were there to do a job.
I saw a bus loads of them at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston. Very tightly controlled.
As the years went by, more and more Chinese companies were exhibiting with products made in China that looked a lot like drilling equipment made here in the USA.
