OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s cryptocurrency initiative featuring a global ID and hopes for Universal Basic Income (UBI) officially launched on Monday, according to the project’s website.
Worldcoin, a cryptocurrency project, is placing “orbs” around the globe that scan an individual’s irises to discern whether they are a human, and issues them a “World ID,” which is a “global digital passport,” according to its website. In order to acquire a “World ID,” customers must book an appointment to conduct an in-person eye scan using Worldcoin’s “orb,” which is a silver ball designed to “verify humanness and uniqueness in a secure and privacy-preserving way.”
During its beta period, Worldcoin reached 2 million users, and it is currently expanding its global orb deployment to 35 cities in 20 countries, Reuters reported. Additionally, people who register in some countries will get Worldcoin’s cryptocurrency token, WLD. Toss in the awesome “15 minute” city concept and BOOM!
DOH! Why didn’t I think if that. 😂👍
The masses will accept it. It’ll be like phone booths, they’ll disappear and you’re the only one without a cell phone.
It is that. And social media.
Instagram of the Soros kids tearing it up on yachts in the Mediterranean and now he’s a political heavyweight
And none of them see that.
I think we’ll stick with gold and silver. 😏
Gee, what could possibly go wrong?
Another one for your consideration.
They might know you have a gun but that is not probable cause for a stop.
So, HEAD.
Guns will be
Hot
Empty
And
Dirty
Head
It is probable cause in a state where you aren’t allowed to have a gun in the car. These states don’t have reciprocity. Even if the stop isn’t legal you’d have to travel back there, hire a lawyer and fight it.
“Digital currency is pure, unadulterated evil. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.”
News alert!! Digital currency has been around for a long time and I’m sure you use it all the time.
The money you have in a bank is just a number in a data base - it’s not a pile of physical cash held by the bank. And when you make a payment of say $100 all they do is subtract 100 from your number in that data base and add 100 to the number of whoever you’re making the payment to.
There is no transfer of physical cash.
The amount of business done with cash nowdays is miniscule compared to that with digital.
No it won't. Once again, it will be incrementalism with the highest efforts. You and I will likely be gone forever full adoption, but barring some major shift in thinking, it will be inevitable.
Fortunately, there is some glimmer of hope out there as people see through the nonsense. But will it be enough? We may not see it, or our children. But our great-grandkids...who knows.
I’m not of this world, so I will decline the “World ID”.
yikes
I had a client, CFO I think. Mid-1990s.
He described a payment system to me. He and others thought it up for a college term paper.
The idea was to mark / identify people so that they could pay with their index finger or their forehead.
I said: “That’s the Mark of the Beast!!!”
He said: “What???”
I asked him if he’d ever read Revelation 13 in the Bible.
He told me he hadn’t.
The year they came up with this idea 💡 in college?
1948. (!)
What. A. Coincidences.
Wow

Part and parcel of the previously agreed to
” it’s not a ( new) treaty”
that we must reject by next may.
Sounds like something I read in an old thousands year old book I read.
Weird huh ?
Sure. I was a big proponent of Apple Pay, a form of electronic currency transaction, as it was more secure than the previous iteration of electronic currency transaction.
You do realize that electronic currency in and of itself is not intrinsically evil…it is the mandating of it by a government as the only option for transactions that is evil, don’t you?
Don’t you?
You can’t possibly fail to see the catastrophic ramifications of outlawing anonymous exchanges of hard currency, can you?
You do realize that is where all of this goes, don’t you?
If you don’t, I have a “News Flash” for you.
I have one charge card that I carry. I don’t call it a credit card because I don’t carry a balance and therefore don’t pay interest. Thus, I am used to “digital currency”. It is convenient, to a point. I carry a few bills, but rarely need them these days. Sometimes though, you need cash. Why does any entity have an interest in being informed of every dollar I spend? It doesn’t, that’s why.
