Trump Gets Bad News From His Own Pollster's Firm
Newsweek ^ | July 21, 2023 | Katherine Fung

Posted on 07/21/2023 7:06:51 PM PDT by Reno89519

Former President Donald Trump on Friday received some bad news from the firm of his own pollster about the 2024 presidential race.

A Fabrizio Ward and Impact Research poll surveying voters in 40 competitive House districts across the nation found that while President Joe Biden has an edge over Trump in those crucial swing districts, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was a bigger threat to the incumbent.

While Biden led Trump 47 percent to 43 percent in a hypothetical matchup, Biden and DeSantis were to be tied at 45 percent.

...

Participants were surveyed by Fabrizio Ward ... who is credited with writing an influential internal memo that helped Trump switch his 2016 campaign strategy two weeks before Election Day, was Trump's chief pollster in 2016 and 2020. He is currently a pollster with MAGA Inc., a Trump-aligned super political action committee.

Women over 50 in those competitive districts also seemed to favor Biden over Trump and DeSantis over Trump. When Trump and Biden go head to head, 48 percent back the Democrat, compared to the 44 percent who support Trump. But in a Biden-DeSantis matchup, the two tie at 46 percent among women over 50.

...

The discrepancy between voters 50 to 64 and those 65 and up seemed to remain in a hypothetical matchup between Biden and DeSantis, with the earlier group favoring the Republican and the latter group favoring the Democrat. DeSantis had a 15-point lead over Biden among the 50-64 age group, while Biden say a 4-point lead over DeSantis among those 65 and above.

Have you checked out this poll’s methodology?

You seem to have a crush on WEF, SOROS, H1B loving Indian anchor baby high school debater Vivek. He has no life experience, no authenticity. What him with Tucker last week, it reminded me of my high school days competing in debate.

As a note, he called for raising the voting age to 25. Wow, that will help win young voters. He's spouting stuff without understanding American, our culture, so ready to disenfranchise people.

I think this has all the earmarks of a media ‘push poll’. This one, probably the first of many to make some Trump voters think/believe that he cannot beat Biden.

The small print, not beyond what the article reported: The poll, commissioned by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), was conducted between July 5 and 11 and surveyed 1,752 likely general election voters in House districts that the Cook Political Report rated as “Lean” or “Toss Up” as of July 5. It has a 2.83+/- margin of error among participants 18 and older and for those 50 and above.

Odds are polls backed by money.

2/1=33%
10/1=9%

Trump has almost four times greater chance of beating Biden.

Simple enough?

Ah, but not this is Trump’s pollster and polling organization. Okay, we’ll see Trump trash them in a Truth tweet this weekend at about 2 a.m.

Seriously, be truthful!

That’s not a detailed methodology.

I haven’t been able to find one for that poll.

Have you?

—€ who knows how many more indictments, lawsuits, court cases, and all for Trump.

Don’t see as how any of it has hurt trump.

And DeSanctus loses support as people are exposed to him.

“National Review tried calling Fabrizio Ward “Trump’s pollster” back in April. They’re attempting to rewrite history.”

Read the facts ...

No crush, just pointing out that Vivek is next in line to challenge Trump, now that DeSantis has effectively eliminated his viability, at least for 2024.

JR: Likewise, things in the presidential primary are getting over-heated. We want to be sure we come out of this with a Republican president, house and senate. The only way we can accomplish that is to unify the Republican Party. We can’t destroy our own candidates. Whoever it is will need to pull us ALL together. Keep the ultimate goal in sight - Freedom! We are not here to fight each other. We are here as allies to fight for God, family, country, and FREEDOM! As William Wallace said in Brave Heart, “Unite the clans!”.

Your personal favorite may be Ron DeSantis, mine happens to be President Trump. But if DeSantis receives the nomination, I’ll support him, as I hope most other FReepers will.
