Republican presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis rattled off a list of what he deemed to be broken 2016 campaign promises by former President Donald Trump, saying he’d rather attack the GOP front-runner on the issues than personality.
"Substantively, we've been very frank about our differences with respect to the former president," the Florida governor said. "I mean, for example, he promised to drain the swamp – it got worse. He did not drain the swamp.
"He promised to have Mexico pay for a border wall. They did like 50 miles of wall. There's massive expanses still there," he continued. "He said he was going to eliminate the national debt. They added almost $8 trillion to the debt in four years.
"And of course, in 2020, he turned the country over to Dr. [Anthony] Fauci, and those lockdowns and the borrowing and printing really set us on a bad course," he added. "I've been very, very frank at that."

No, he ran on it in 2016.
I guess you don't recognize sarcasm when you hear it. He called GPS Fusion's Nellie Ohr, married to the DOJ's Bruce Ohr, "beautiful Nellie" too.
"Go over there"
I disagree about that. Based on what we learned later in the public reports on the matter, by the time we got to February 2017 it was clear that Mike Flynn was retarded at best. Once the contents of the guy’s phone conversations with the Russian foreign minister were splashed all over the national media, there was no way in hell he could ever stay in the Trump administration.
You have zero sense of humor. Read my tag line
Read Jim robs policy on personel attacks, please.
Draining the swamp is a process that I believe is currently underway. Purging “The swamp” may require dramatic action to be taken by the American people themselves. But the first step is opening people’s eyes to the problem and Trump has done that in spades. His running for President now is also part of draining “The swamp”. He will force “The swamp” to take obvious and very public tyrannical steps to stop him and There will be no doubt any longer what is going on.
If the 2024 election is stolen or somehow cancelled many will know that our system of free elections is over. What happens next may be history in the making.
I think Trump did the best he could & rather well, all things considered. He was sure a breath of fresh air compared to what we have now and we need to consider what might have been accomplished if Trump didn’t have to spend half his time fighting off the radicals.
Nope, just a hard core conservative, who's sick of Trump's childish games and losing string. 2020 was the worst year this country has had in at least 50 years, and Trump was a major reason. He's gotten no better since then, actually worse.
He has no new ideas, or friends, just old excuses, and boring followers who can't handle an honest debate. All they can do is point back to 7 years ago when we had the Presidency and both Houses of Congress, which was ages ago at this point, and won't be happening if he's the nominee again.
“See, we need Trump to start WW3 to stick it to meatball Ron and the globalists.”
He also doesn’t mention that he built a hell of a lot more wall than 50 miles. And that the REPUBLICAN party fought him tooth and nail on that. Then he used discretionary DOD funding and was immediately sued and stopped by the court.
It’s bald faced lie to pretend it was Trump not filling a promise. Ergo, DeSantis is a bald faced opportunistic Ivy League lawyer. His Disney war was a head fake to establish “conservative” creds so he can get into office and do the sacred work of the Ryan/Bush/McConnell/McCarty wing.
I didn’t say Flynn wasn’t a supporter/defender of Trump. I said he was retarded at best. Those aren’t mutually exclusive.
Time to move on to the next shiny bauble, eh? Just pretend that a national election wasn't stolen from the most popular President in our lifetime? Let bygones be bygones? Forgive the DOJ for their continuous attacks on a President whose only fault was running and winning, and actually producing positive things for this country? Might as well move on from 9/11 too while we're at it. Let's keep the status quo, because it's easier to go along with the GOPe, in order to get along with the Democrats right? You can go back to the days of the Bushes, because that's basically what you are asking for, but don't expect sane Conservatives to follow your suit. We've been there, done that, and we're not about to return to those $hit times.
“Huh DeSantis doesn’t mention that the virus came from China.”
****************************
If it came from Kathmandu would Trump have acted differently? What matters is that Trump followed the actions of the Chinese in response to it and now we are in a huge mess. He got played big time at several levels.
Does Trump mention that the mRNA vaccines came from medical technology that as therapeutics couldn’t even get out of clinical trials for over a decade due to risks and lack of efficacy? Yet he rammed the reformulated versions through the emergency approval process as vaccines and claimed it to be “one the greatest achievements of mankind.”
Then he abdicated his presidency to Fauci and friends, which planted the seeds for lockdowns, vax mandates, inflation and a greater election fraud.
Standing on the border does not access the entirety of the border or the terrain. There are sites that show you each section in detail.

“Before Biden stopped new construction on the wall, the Trump administration had built 458 miles of what it dubbed “border wall system,” according to final figures compiled by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and provided to U.S. News.
The wall consists mostly of 18- to 30-foot steel bollards anchored in concrete. The barriers also feature sensors, lights, cameras and parallel roads in some places.
The vast majority of the 458 miles were constructed in places where some kind of barrier already existed, but most of the preexisting structures were far less imposing than the new wall and included fencing and rudimentary technical barriers. The total figure also includes what the agency calls “secondary border wall” or sections of wall built behind preexisting barriers that ultimately remained in place.”
Trump met with border patrol & they gave him their assessment of what was needed to make a major impact. Those miles were completed. As they were nearing completion the border patrol asked for another 50 miles. The materials were bought & readied. It would have taken 3 weeks into Biden’s term. Biden forbid those sections and left the materials to rust. States asked if they could take them and use them and Biden refused.
Neither Trump nor the border patrol envisioned or desired a Gulf of Mexico to sea border.
It’s all very well to be strident, dismissive & petulant. What did other Presidents do?
Mexico paid by keeping in Mexico people who wanted to cross and by posting soldiers on the border. They offered to keep aliens in Mexico. All those things cost money. Money Mexico spent on our behalf. Paid on our behalf.
He signed the First Step Act. Letting felons go is never a good idea.
DeSantis is looking like Robin Ventura charging the mound against Nolan Ryan. The idea keeps looking worse with each step.
How much money did Trump get from Congress to build what wall he did? How much money did he shift from the Defense budget to build what wall he could when he couldn’t get Congress to give him any? How much flack did he get for doing that? Trump shifted $3.8 billion from the Pentagon’s budget to use for building what wall he could, and then he was challenged in court for it. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with a coalition of border states and environmental groups that contended the money transfer was unlawful. That decision was appealed, and the Supreme Court found in Trump’s favor. Everything the man did, they fought him tooth and nail on. Then when Biden took office, they shifted $2.2 billion in border wall funds back to the military, which was probably then sent to Ukraine.
