Florida Republicans are requiring 2024 presidential candidates to sign a loyalty pledge to support the party’s eventual nominee in order to qualify for the primary ballot next year.
The new pledge in Florida is similar to a Republican National Committee requirement to qualify for next month’s first presidential debate, under which participants have to sign a pledge “agreeing to support the eventual party nominee.”
Several other candidates have also bristled at signing the RNC’s pledge, and Trump and DeSantis have both sidestepped questions about whether they would commit to backing the other if that person wins the party’s nomination.

Sign it and ignore it. Case solved.
You were mis-representing and lying about the FL GOP pledge, as similar to the pledge Trump asked people to do.
That’s like saying an apple is the same as a tomato.
Pledging to not run third party, is completely different from pledging to put in a person’s vote.
No, ultimately the party has absolute and final say on who is on the ballot on their behalf. The government does’t pick the candidates! (Though they might try.).
And so does the KKKommiecrat party.
aka...thou shalt not be a third party candidate...
DeSwamp will do like Jeb in 2016. Sign the pledge then oppose Trump.
Sigh…I wish RDS would have pledged to serve out his full term as governor.
I agree. Given that the only candidate to be held to the pledge will be Donald Trump. The other candidates will be excused for whatever reason they come up with. There are many candidates running who do not expect to win but have the funding of well healed backers who want a platform to do what they can to destroy Trump. MAGA Trump supporters are on their own and know that the RINOS would prefer the communist democrat party over a Trump administration.
“That’s like saying an apple is the same as a tomato.”
Is that toe may toe or ta mot toe?

“pledging to put in a person’s vote.”
HUH? Sorry, I don’t understand.
If this silly rule is inacted, President Trump would merely need to run for the presidential nomination on the Constitution Party ticket in Florida (or even nationwide). Thereafer, the Republican Party would be as irrelevant as the Whig Party. That outcome seems inevitable either way.
Seems to be unconstitutional to me.
Are we in it to win it or not? If the losing candidates don’t vote for the winner in our party, were they only in this fight for themselves? What about our country? They’re just going to stay home and let Biden or whomever replaces him continue the destruction of America?
That's obvious. The issue I have is that will never, ever happen with the GOP support.

All Republicans should have to sign a loyalty pledge to get to run as a Republican because there are some wishy-washy ones out there ,LOL
The Uniparty destruction will continue if a GOPe candidate wins the primary. As far as the general election goes a GOPe candidate won’t win anyway because he would have to have more votes, which he won’t get from many Trump supporters, than the RAT has ballots and that has no way of happening.
And they wonder why people dont care for politics.
Unconstitutional
Shouldn’t a political party have some say in who goes on a primary ballot from within their organization? Primaries are about party votes, aren’t they? How is this corrupt? Isn’t Trump all grouchy about DeSantis being “disloyal”? Did DeSantis ever tell Trump he wouldn’t challenge him? I don’t think so, or Trump would’ve told us that long ago and often.
