Shouldn’t a political party have some say in who goes on a primary ballot from within their organization? Primaries are about party votes, aren’t they? How is this corrupt? Isn’t Trump all grouchy about DeSantis being “disloyal”? Did DeSantis ever tell Trump he wouldn’t challenge him? I don’t think so, or Trump would’ve told us that long ago and often.

It’s the same political party that has shown they colluded with the left in several states to sanction or commit election fraud, so Trump lost in 2020.

So, if they GOP gets Trump to sign a loyalty pledge, then force him off the ballot in several states, so he can’t in the primary, would they hold Trump to the loyalty pledge and make him endorse someone like desantis?

Most probably.

So why give the backstabbing GOP any advantage with signing a loyalty pledge?

And as far as penalties, I’m not sure. The national RNC could arbitrarily make up some new rule for candidates, and enforce it by keeping them out of the primaries or the general convention.
