Roseanne Barr, 70, has shocked her former fans again after some confusing comments about the Holocaust during a recent podcast appearance.
“This Past Weekend” host Theo Von might have found himself lost in Barr’s byzantine bit about “bulls – – -” surrounding the 2020 election, as the comic commented on different concepts and perceptions of “truth” in America and on how social media platforms can limit discussion of different topics. “Like for the real truth that, you know, and I’m glad that they did set up all these guidelines so that we only are allowed to speak the truth,” Barr said — with alleged sarcasm — during the podcast. “And the truth is that Biden got 81 million votes by winning 36 counties. And that is just incredible. It really, really is.” Barr later continued, “And that is the truth. And nobody died in the Holocaust either. That’s the truth. It should happen. Six million Jews should die right now ’cause they cause all the problems in the world. But it never happened. But it never happened — mandated.”
Barr then noted that she herself is “100%” Jewish — no sarcasm implied. On Tuesday, Barr’s son Jake Pentland defended his mom in a statement to TMZ. “We are embarrassed that people are stupid enough not to recognize Roseanne is being sarcastic,” he told the outlet.

If she is 100% Jewish, why does she refer to Jewish people as “they?”

What? Nazism in it's purest form perpetuate the holocaust. They aren't holocaust deniers, they believe the holocaust was right. This guy sounds like he is downplaying Nazism.

It seems like she was being sarcastic, but could have done a better job.
It was sarcastic.. making a point. OK, let’s do what we always do and jump on a friend.
Her son contends she was being sarcastic. Bother of her parents were Jewish, and she was raised Jewish, except they didn’t tell their neighbors.

You have to admit, she definitely has a way of garbling her message, and that goes back to the 90s. Some people may remember her national anthem.

Are people really not smart enough to see the sarcasm in those two statements?
I am wondering if 1) this explains her comments, 2) off her meds or 3) crazier than a sh^t house rat.
Context is key. If you believe that Biden actually got 81 million legitimate votes, you might believe that “no one died in the Holocaust”. I believe that was the point she was making. Once again, a misleading headline take its toll.

She was being sarcastic.

I believe she is using sarcasm.
If people here can’t recognize that as blatant sarcasm that’s pathetic.
