WASHINGTON (AP) — More than $200 billion may have been stolen from two large COVID-19 relief initiatives, according to new estimates from a federal watchdog investigating federally funded programs that helped small businesses survive the worst public health crisis in more than a hundred years.
The numbers issued Tuesday by the U.S. Small Business Administration inspector general are much greater than the office’s previous projections and underscore how vulnerable the Paycheck Protection and COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan programs were to fraudsters, particularly during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

When you look at what Trump went through, courts, the Democrats wholly resisting him, and “his own” party either actively siding with the Democrats or just cooling their heels and keeping their filthy mouths shut, for a total of maybe $4 paltry Billion spent.
Just the other day they pulled $6.8 billion out of their collective (OUR collective) asses to send, free and easy, to Ukraine.

Gone. Vanished. None of the pearl clutching from the Left. None of the hysteria from the media. None of the vituperation. Nobody conducting hearings or putting people in jail. $200 billion gone. Just gone. Into someone’s pockets. I would take a wild guess into whose pockets, but...no difference.
It’s actually $500 Billion for those tracking it. Enough to outright buy almost any company in the world, save for a few.
And the lead investigator is Horowitz from the DOJ, of all people!
We were completely scammed.

They obviously know where the money went. I guess it is a matter of whether they want it back. Payoffs, ripoffs and things nobody saw.

I didn’t think so.
Actually it was stolen and most of it was looted from the PPP program (paycheck protection plan) where employers filed with local banks for “grant money” to make payroll and stay in business during the lockdowns and pandemic.
It was all done on the “honor system” so thousands of people got money from Uncle Sugar and they were supposed to use it to pay their employees and bills.
While I am sure there were many who were honest and used it for employees I am certain there were many who spent it on themselves for things that had nothing to do with their business.
