Four students reportedly walked out of the professor's class when he stated that sex was determined by X and Y chromosomes.
St. Philip's College in San Antonio, Texas reportedly fired one of its biology professors for teaching his students that sex was determined by X and Y chromosomes.
First Liberty Institute, a law firm that defends religious liberty for Americans, sent a letter to the community college on behalf of the professor, Dr. Johnson Varkey, demanding the institution reinstate him after he was fired in January 2023.
"When teaching the human reproductive system, Dr. Varkey also stated that human sex is determined by chromosomes X and Y, and that reproduction must occur between a male and a female to continue the human species," First Liberty stated in its letter. "In the course of teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology, he made these statements in every class for 20 years, without any incident or complaint."

The controversy is supposedly about “gender” as something distinct from biological sex.
“Science” is no longer the search for truth in nature.
Yet another word redefined by the progressives.

I appreciate them sticking up for this person, but this is NOT a matter of religious liberty. It is a question of SCIENTIFIC TRUTH.
I mean, is this the argument now? I believe in biology due to my religious convictions? I understand there are some scientific questions that cause controversy among certain religious believers, but male & female ain’t one of them. As to evolution, etc. that’s all very interesting and maybe even important, but it’s impact on most people’s everyday lives is nil.
You know, I’m really getting to be on the verge of despair from this stuff. I just don’t see how we are going to get out of this without massive bloodshed, because the people that are supposedly, presumably, running our society have lost their minds. There’s not a schizo homeless drug addict trannie laying in in the gutter anywhere who is any crazier than these people are.

Unfortunately, statute doesn't differentiate between sex and gender. Which is why there is a huge bru-ha-ha on the subject.
And if a young man identifies as a female, he/she can have a uterus and get pregnant? Nope! X and Y chromosomes determine his sex at his conception! Same goes for young women identifying as a male, she/he has no testicles and sperm to cause another female to get pregnant. Science is a fact in determining sex at birth! Despite what BS liberals say.
