CMO Anheuser-Busch USA Marcel Marcondes speaks at the Cannes Lions International Festival June 20, 2019 in Cannes, France.
New York CNN —
Anheuser-Busch InBev’s top marketing executive is speaking out following a monthslong boycott of Bud Light that has cost the brand its title as America’s top-selling beer.
“When things get divisive and controversial so easily, I think it’s an important wake-up call to all of us marketers to be very humble,” said Marcel Marcondes, Anheuser-Busch’s global chief marketing officer, at a conference on Monday.
Bud Light sales have tumbled since the company’s partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney sparked an anti-trans backlash and calls for a boycott. The company’s tepid response angered LGBTQ+ advocates, and the episode became ground zero in America’s culture wars.

You’ve quoted a post that was not made by me.
“Marcondes struck an optimistic tone about Bud Light and said the brand will begin to go around the country to reconnect with consumers.
“It’s coming back,” he said.”
God do I feel pity for the poor girls that are going to work these events... I am sure they are going to face more rejection than they are used to at the their cute young ages trying to push Bud Light SWAG into the hands of folks who want nothing to do with it.
[What am I leaving out? Help me out here.]
Well, you left out the best one:
A Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy!!!
(LOL)
I will never understand why big companies like this are willing to lose so much to cater to such a tiny portion of the public. It’s insane.
Maybe they think that they’ll drag a lot of the straight-but-woke young along; but many of those kids are going to grow up and get some brains.
AB Inbev needs to spin-off Anheuser Busch with new American leadership.
The new American management team could explain that it was wrong to think great American brands like Budweiser and Bud Light should be run by wussies from Belgium. Clydesdales! Victory!
(Alissa Heinerscheid moves to Belgium to live happily ever after and that Mexican beer brand is no longer #1.)
Me neither
blah, blah, blah, blah. Still no apology.

Believe that it’s called Wishful Thinking
I read their sales have gone below Bud Light week 1 sales.
BLA, BLA, BLA, LIES as usual!!
That rain on my leg is kind of warm.
I can proudly state that I am incapable of boycotting Bud Light or any InBev product.
Oddly they will never recover despite what they do. Lite beers really taste awful and bud lite is at the top of the awful list. They do not really taste bad but have very little taste.
Bud Lite drinkers that try a descent beer will not come back to Bud Lite.
I don’t think they actually fired anyone. Laid one off with pay is all I read.
