U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday as America’s top diplomat concluded a flying two-day visit to Beijing.
According to AP, a Blinken-Xi meeting had been expected, but neither side had confirmed it would happen until just an hour before the talks, which are seen as key to the success of the trip.
News of the diplomatic head-to-head came after China told the U.S. earlier in the day it must choose between “cooperation or conflict” with Beijing as both countries seek to navigate a diplomatic way forward amid fraught relations between the world’s two largest economies.

No more Chinese imports. Get started now.
In other words: Dig your own grave or we will dig it for you.

‘Cooperation or Conflict’

What are the odds that Red China will invade the Republic of China before January 2025? I’d say they’re very good.
I agree. If we were to impose a 200% tariff on *everything* made in China that would force the EU,Japan,South Korea,Canada,Australia (IOW,the rest of the civilized world)...to do the same.
What are the odds the USA starts a proxy war in Ukraine in 2025 ? Oh wait - we’ve already done it !
If we could just have a “limited” war with China, it would be great for all those zip codes surrounding Washington DC. /sarc
Noticed in the handshakes Xi didn’t move a muscle to walk toward him. Blinken looked like he was running to him and stretched out his hand way to far to shake Xi’s hand.
The Biden Admin is planing on propping up the Chinese Communist Party disaster
With respect. I think your assumption of "force" applied to the rest of the "civilized world" would send a very poor message to that world. What would be your response, if you were atop government, and the other nations did not do your bidding? And what would be your response if multinational companies here and in Europe pressed back against your"force?"
Does he need knee pads to kowtow? I thought the official position was absolutely flat against the floor or the dirt?
What are companies to do if they don’t want to deal with the 200% tariff? Sell elsewhere would be one choice, find places other than China to produce their products. No big deal, let them. We, as a country cannot afford to continue buying from China, we cannot afford to be funding their military, which will eventually cost American lives. Disengage now, before it is too late. Our alternative? Surrender, lower the American flag.
And this after that fine photo of him sitting with the Saudi doofus, a big ole Saudi falg behind doofus, and NO American flag behind the bigger (and littler) doofus.
I’m currently riding a bullet train between Shaoxing and Shanghai.
Not one person I’ve spoken to over here wants war with the US, or anyone else for that matter. But then again, my in laws are not Party members- and neither are their friends. I have not seen any military movements or military aircraft in the air since I arrived a few days ago.
These people are enjoying life, not gearing up for war.
Yep, the optics tell it all...and it ain’t good.

Xi should eat General Tso’s chicken and be happy.
