Trump vows to 'never' drop out of 2024 presidential race even if convicted

Former President Donald Trump says he will "never" drop out of the 2024 presidential election even if he is convicted on any of the criminal charges that have been brought against him in multiple probes.

"I’ll never leave," Trump told Politico on Saturday. "Look, if I would have left, I would have left prior to the original race in 2016. That was a rough one. In theory that was not doable."

Trump's comments come after he was indicted last week on 37 federal felony counts related to allegations he retained classified documents, violated the Espionage Act and obstructed justice.

The former president was also indicted in a Manhattan court on 34 counts in April related to allegations that he falsified business records in connection his alleged role in a hush money scheme involving adult film actress Stormy Daniels and former Playboy playmate Karen McDougal before the 2016 election.

Trump has said he is not guilty on all charges.

When asked whether he would pardon himself should he win the 2024 presidential election, Trump told the D.C.-based outlet: "I don’t think I’ll ever have to. I didn’t do anything wrong."

He also acknowledged that the indictment is an unwelcome development even as his fundraising and poll numbers skyrocketed following the first indictment.

"Nobody wants to be indicted,” Trump said. "I don’t care that my poll numbers went up by a lot. I don’t want to be indicted. I’ve never been indicted. I went through my whole life, now I get indicted every two months. It’s been political."

The documents case? It’s in the Florida fed courts.

I don’t know how this ends good for Republicans, while Trump still has lots of Republican support if he gets convicted there will be a lot of Republicans dropping him. We need a unified party to win the White House. IMHO, this is a mess.

So why do you think it “odd” that Trump would bring “it” up?

It seems odd that you would think it odd.

Trump DISAPPOINTS Elite Stream media AGAIN.

The Daily Mail is running a story that describes Trump’s speech yesterday as “low energy”.

Elite Stream media wants sound bytes and pictures of an unhinged and angry Trump.

As usual Trump NEVER gives them what they want.

Trump is angry and has right to be.

But he didn’t win two elections by not understanding messaging.

Trump vents on social media using all caps.

But when he makes public appearances he projects the dignity and calm which true leadership requires.

In other words Trump is presidential.

A quality NO ONE else currently on the national political possesses.

Actually, this is a Florida court, albeit in a very Dem part of the state (Miami/Palm Beach). But any charges related to J6 will be in DC. And don’t forget possible charges in Georgia (Atlanta). By the end of this, it is possible Trump could be convicted in 4 different locations, only 2 of which he could pardon himself if elected. Could be an interesting couple of years ahead.

I didn’t say that. You have me confused with another poster.

I was just pointing out that the jury would be composed of Floridians, not DC residents.

Trumps been angry since they left a few people off the total at the inauguration. Remember we had to hear about that for months. Even had full press conference over inauguration numbers. What a time to be an American.

If they can get a DC jury to find Trump guilty of "insurrection" that would be a pretext for saying that he cannot hold office again, based on the 14th amendment.

The Democrats want to see Trump in prison, but they also want him to be the Republican nominee. Then the election can be all about Trump instead of about how badly Biden and the Democrats have run the country since Jan. 2021.
