You really think there was a $236B surplus in any year during the Clinton administration -- when the Federal budget never exceeded $2T? That's simply not possible.

If there were any surplus of that magnitude, then why didn't the Federal debt drop accordingly?

While cute, your comment isn’t to be taken seriously.

We live it clown world now. Everything is possible.

There is absolutely NO comparison between President Trump and this little tart. Miss McErney would never be on the foxes had she NOT been White House press secretary ...

There was a time it was considered ‘immoral’ for the media to contribute air time without charge for a democrat candidate ... what is it about catholics who never have a line they will not cross.... godfather Biden is the US head catholic ... yet the so called good catholic NEVER EVER say a disparaging word against him ...

So I get it ... catholic fox is going to support catholic saint Desantis ... morals be damned

P.S. — Any “surplus” you saw back then wasn’t the result of sound fiscal policy. It was directly attributed to a short-term burst in income tax revenue after the Roth IRA was established in 1997 and millions of Americans converted traditional IRAs to Roth IRAs — which required them to pay income taxes on their prior IRA contributions that had been tax-deferred.

Duck and Dive all you want, you said the budget had never been in surplus in your lifetime, which would make you less than 30 years old.

Clearly it was in surplus under Clinton, even if gimmicks were used, they would not work today because the deficit is so large and the budget has a deficit bias built in.

Thanks for the response, you’ve confirmed everything I suspected about Trump sycophants.

Pretty weak. Trump has never been considered a fiscal conservative and his record reflects that. Trump would best be served by discovering the best way to create economic prosperity and to eliminate the deep state is by defunding and shuttering massive portions of government. I still support Trump, no one else has proposed what I just wrote. Maybe when we are $50 Trillion in debt in a few years the idea will occur.

Yeah he looks bad on this. DeSantis called out this betrayal immediately. Trump should have said something when it would have mattered.

if Trump was mad at her for something she did, why not call her up and discuss the issue instead of going on social media and trashing someone who did a really good job as press secretary under some very trying circumstances.

You Trump haters ruin each thread with your Trump hate - all it does is annoy people and they move on to another thread you haven’t ruined yet. You’re not convincing anybody…

Oh of course we’re not convincing any of the Trump die hards here. As Trump himself said, he could shoot somebody right on 5th avenue in the middle of the day, and some of you would still support him. But there are others, who are listening, and quietly making their way off the Trump train.

What I can tell you for sure, is, once you do finally leave Trump, it’s like the red pill all over again, and there is NO going back after that. So if anyone ought to put a sock in it, it’s those of you trying to lure people back. Leaving Trump is like breaking some horrible addiction, and you just want to make sure you not fall back into it again, no matter what.

"Since when has Trump shown any public deference to anyone when the subject was important to him ???
Trump was a marvelously good President even though he surrounded himself with flattering backstabbers. That is, until the COVID challenge arose. He's been wrong on practically everything since and has acted like a petulant child. Nevertheless, I will vote for him if he wins the primary because the alternative is so horrible, but he has lost me (and probably many others) bit by bit in the last few months. I shake my head; how could he be so stupid?

“As Trump himself said, he could shoot somebody right on 5th avenue in the middle of the day, and some of you would still support him.”

That’s another oft-repeated lie from 2016. The guy who actually said that was a Trump-hating reporter. Soon after, at a rally, Trump jokingly quoted the guy - and we all laughed at the absurdity of it..

Get your facts straight

He said it all right - whether it came from someone else originally or not. He said it with PRIDE. And it’s probably true.

I agree with you I’ve said repeatedly I would happily vote for Trump if he wins the nomination and the same goes for DeSantis

Trump is not doing dumb things, that’s who he is, you don’t trash your press secretary who did a really good job for you so a perceived slight and let people like Kevin McCarthy off the hook over the bad deal he negotiated especially after supporting him for the job

Go down the list of all the terrible people he put into jobs, they rarely if ever get criticized by Trump but a press secretary gets savaged for basically nothing, the bad hires he would have to own not so with the press secretary

Has Trump been as critical of Fauci as he has been about Kayleigh McEnany and who did far more damage to Trump and the country

Duh.

I remember the moment well - I was one of the people laughing outrageously when he told that story.

That’s not pride - that’s contempt for the fake news that he was mocking.

You obviously don’t understand Trump - you don’t understand his supporters - you don’t get his jokes because you are the brunt of them.

Get a clue.

A long time ago, I was out on open water at one of them Caribbean islands, on a small one person sailboat. No rudder, just the sail to control direction.

It had a keel, that fits through from the top of the boat and extends out the bottom.

I pulled it out to see what would happen, and the boat went with the breeze, regardless of what I did with the sail.

Only when I replaced the keel board back into it's slot did I regain steering control with he sail, and was able to tack back to shore.
