There was research conducted a few years ago with individuals convicted of violent crimes. These cons were in prison for serious, predatory crimes of violence: assaults, murders and killing law enforcement officers. The vast majority said that they specifically targeted victims by body language: slumped walk, passive behavior and lack of awareness. They chose their victims like big cats do in Africa, when they select one out of the herd that is least able to protect itself.

On September 2, 2001, I attended a ‘traffic school’ course at the Courthouse to clear up a speeding ticket. There were around 30 of us in the class. There was a United States flag up at the front. Just before things got underway, I stood up, and stated that it would be appropriate for us to pledge to the flag. Each and every person stood up, and placed their hand over their heart. We all pledged allegiance, took our seats, and the class then began. Several people came up afterwards and thanked me. The instructor, a retired police officer, confided that he felt the same sentiment, but had been reluctant to lead the class in the pledge as “someone might complain”. I told him that in the future, if a flag was present, he should simply turn to it, place his hand over his heart, and start the pledge— others would naturally follow without prompting. Free speech and all that. He agreed, and said he would do so in the future. Here’s hoping...

When one is so ashamed of their country that they won’t allow kids to sing THE NATIONAL ANTHEM! For fear that it “might offend someone” then it is time to retire and move out of the country!

This choir made a MASSIVE mistake which they can easily remedy at future performances. They need to have a sign ready that says “Gay, Lesbian and Trans Children’s Choir”. Then they can whip it out if any agent of the government tries to stop them.
