EXCLUSIVE: Fox News has learned that more than 100 former Trump administration officials have formed a growing coalition backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to be the Republican Party's 2024 presidential nominee.

According to multiple sources within the group, officially known as "The Eight-Year Alliance," DeSantis is "a proven winner," a contender with a depth of policy proven by what he's accomplished at the state level, and a leader who "does what he says."

I sense a pattern emerging for the Fox digital editor, Brandon Gillespie!

five days ago:

Trump said in April his ‘support is almost universal in Florida’

"He was able to increase his margin at the state legislature. And replace RINOS with people who will pass his agenda."

And he did that personally, without the help of anyone else in the State. Wow!! He must be Superman.

He picked the right people to get it done. Something Trump fails to do time and time again.

"When Trump was elected he had both houses and lost them both."

Had you bothered to read, or even comprehend the rest of my comment, or even did your own research on it, you would have found that historically, whichever party holds The White House at midterm elections, usually loses both Houses. Trump lost one, which is a rarity, but go ahead and denigrate the guy if you get your rocks off over it.

"We know how Trump faired with a Democrat legislature!"

And we know how Obama fared with a Republican-controlled Congress. Republicans rolled over each and every time...same thing they've done whenever they've won control of both Houses. George H. W. Bush gave the Democrats new taxes. During Bill Clinton's midterms, Republicans took control of both Houses of Congress for the first time since the 83rd Congress in 1955. That's when Newt Gingrich brought forth his Contract with America. George W. Bush gave us Homeland Security and gave the Democrats the TSA, and allowed them to be unionized. Democrats held up the authorization of the TSA until Bush rolled over and let them unionize. The last two years of Bush's second term, Democrats controlled both Houses. During Obama's last two years of his second term, Republicans controlled both Houses.

"I expect he’d do the same nationally. Get rid of RINOs and put in people who will support a conservative agenda."

The other thing you need to realize, is that until people stop voting for Rinos just to keep the seat Republican, you will never get rid of Rinos ever.

"Oh boy. These are also who made a “white supremacist” out of Larry Elder..."

Yep. I remember they belittled Hermain Cain too when he ran for President, saying he wasn't black enough. Every black Republican they label an Uncle Tom, he/she doesn't act like a black perosn, or share the same values as black people, and then have the nerve to call us the racists.

DeSantis doesn’t seem the type to pass blame for things to other people.

Doesn't seem? How do you know that? What has he done to prove that to you?

He’s been my governor for 5 years and definitely doesn’t blame others. He’s a workhorse. He’s does good work that has expanded across the country.

DeSantis has been endorsed by the Republican establishment and, thus, unlike Trump, won't have any problem picking his cabinet because anyone picked will approved of by the establishment.

All you have is the same lies leftist and the Republican establishment uses against Trump.

We got rid of that RINO in Virginia and he was the House whip or something like that. Primaried him out.

You can’t have it both ways, if they are good MAGA people, why did they undermine Trump? If they support DeSantis, are they still anti-MAGA?

Think past your emotions…..the signs are blatant.

____________________________________________

If we see that these were NOT good MAGA people, then why did Trump hire them? Why did Trump endorse DeSantis? Why Sessions, Pence, Barr, Giulini, etc? Over 100 people Trump never should have trusted.

“The signs are blatant”.

They sure are. Trump sucks regarding his leadership ability.

________________________________

How is this scenario any different than what Trump did? He picked Republican Establishment RINOs like Sessions and Barr because he had to. Because they would be (and were) approved by the establishment.

I’ll never understand the false claims that DeSantis is tied to the GOPe, when we know Trump played by their rules for 4 years.

"We got rid of that RINO in Virginia and he was the House whip or something like that. Primaried him out."

That's one State, not nation-wide races. Usually, you can get rid of a Rino once he realizes he won't be able to win as the incumbent. They will normally choose to not run for re-election. But there are way too many other Rinos scattered across the other States. You'll never get rid of them all, especially people like Murkowski, Collins, McConnell, etc. They are too entrenched, even if you put up a true Conservative candidate against them. People will still vote for the Rinos.

DeSantis has been able to get more Conservatives in office state-wide (smaller area), but would he be able to do it nation-wide? I don't think he'd do any better than Trump in getting rid of Rinos. Has DeSantis even railed against Rinos? Democrats are one thing but has he attacked anyone in his own party that serves within his State? Are there any Rinos he can attack? I don't live in Florida. We've got our own political problems here in New York State. We'll never have a Republican Governor again, or Republican U.S. Senators...not in what time I have left on earth. And any vote Republicans cast for President, it's the heavily populated down-state counties that always give the Democrat candidate the State, even though the rest of the counties in the State are red. It's a sad state of affairs indeed.
