President Joe Biden claimed on Sunday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed that American-made F-16 fighter jets will not be used to attack Russian territory.
At the tail end of the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan, President Biden said that President Zelensky provided him with a “flat assurance” that Western-supplied F-16 fighter planes will not be used to attack Russia itself, but rather “wherever Russian troops are within Ukraine and the area,” the Reuters news agency reported.

So the gist of it is...these jets will crash in Ukraine...and wipe out their own. Smart move!!

The concept of in some fashion erasing Russia has a great deal of merit, but mostly for reasons ABSOLUTELY not revealed — namely, their oil will run out last. They will have oil for tractors and food transport and they will decide where it goes.
I do not think American neocon thinking has figured this out. They are wrapped up in Russia hatred for only the reason that Russia refused to acquiesce to Libya regime change, abstaining from that vote, and then after that resolution to protect civilians was corrupted into Let’s Kill Khadaffi, Russia said no more. We will oppose every single regime change UN proposal of the US.
Oil is the real reason to oppose Russia. This other bullshit is just American exceptionalism delusion. Even if they understood the horrible error they are making in creating an enemy of where oil will be controlled, they probably could not admit it.
Imagine:
We must break up Russia because we must have control of their oil and gas.
That probably won’t play well in Peoria, nor in the UN General Assembly.
And so we are faced with delusion for national policy, instead of truth.

F16s are nearly 50 years old. Sure the avionics and power plant have been updated. But the air frame is still a 50 year old design.

so when the democrat says “FLAT Assurance” what they’re saying is that the American Made jets WILL DEFINITELY be used to attack the russian mainland. Like when they say ‘Most Transparent’ or “Most Ethical in History” they are signalling that they’re going to conceal and cover up everything they do. And that they’re going to be the most corrupt in history.
Everything they do and say is opposite of the truth. Like looking at a photographic negative. They’re truly twisted human beings.

As long as they're not outfitted with stealth, I'm assuming the Russians can shoot them down easily unless the Ukrainians fly them low in order to avoided getting spotted on the radar.

If not the most modern ones, why not?
Why dither and not supply what is needed to at least stalemate the war and force a settlement? I am hearing our leadership say we will give Ukraine what it needs to “win”, whatever the definition of that is today. It seems cruel to raise false hopes that by our help they can “win” if they cannot. If we are truly only doing it for the bribes and kickbacks vis a vis our defense industry making sh*t to replace what is being burned up there and have no intention of backing up our words about winnning then shame upon us.

Yeah that's it. Not Russia's invasion of Georgia and annexation of 20% of its territory, not Putin's later attack and annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the the subsequent start of a separatist war in Ukraine, its not the 2022 invasion of Ukraine and annexation of Ukraine's territory. Its "Russia hatred" because of Libya. Okay
