A 14-year-old boy was busted this week for kicking a man in the head during a hate-fueled attack in which his pals called the victim a “cracker,” cops said.
The teen, who was not identified because of his age, was arrested Tuesday and charged with hate crime assault in connection to the April 14 attack on Roosevelt Island, police said.
The trio came up to the 35-year-old victim around 7 p.m. in the back of an apartment complex on Main Street, police said.
The 14-year-old suspect booted the man in the head, according to cops.
At least one of his two accomplices then snarled, “You’re not going to catch me, cracker!” authorities said.
The crew ran into the Roosevelt Avenue F train station, where they were captured on surveillance footage.

Why is it a “hate crime”? Isn’t assault just assault, anyway.
Does a “hate crime victim” deserve greater justice for an assault than someone otherwise a victim of assualt? I don’t think so.
That does not mean that “hate” cannot be used prosecutors in establishing motive, but to me, constitutionally, it is real crime to make motive a separate “crime”.
By the way, we KNEW that when they first started esatblishing “hate crimes” that it was just the beginning of a slippery slope down to “hate speech” laws and controlling freedom of speech with such laws.

I was in the computer/electronics field then. It was a freak out among CEOs and the like, but the engineers knew it was nothing to worry about. It was sold to them like climate change is today. You cause panic in people who don’t know better and they get in line. No one wants to be left behind. Same with DEI, trans, etc. I believe this situation is different than anything we’ve had before. When have gangs of children assaulted adults in a race hatred situation? Much more of this and folks will lose sympathy and bleeding heart leftist drivel will have no effect. The next reset will be much more horrific.

If it wasn’t for Gone with the wind I would never have even heard of the word ‘cracker’ as used as a derogatory for white people.
It’s very old and this kid is just involved in learning from the culture who probably have been repeating it since the movie came out, or god knows when it became popular way back in the civil war because it was really a southern thing.
Imagine if the races were reversed and the N word was said. We would never hear the end of it.

It is now being pressed as a “civil rights” issue to extend juvenile-only treatment for criminals up to age 20, 22 or even 25—because of the racially disparate impact of prosecution.
