ATLANTA — Brian Kemp, the 59-year-old son of an Athens farmer who was once trampled by a 750-pound bovine in a cattle chute, has developed a way of casting calm in the fiercest of storms.
Six months after soundly defeating Democrat Stacey Abrams in their second matchup in four years, he remains undaunted by everything that has happened to him in the past few years, from Abrams refusing to admit she lost that race four years ago to the strident national media criticisms of how he handled COVID-19, MLB's meltdown over his state’s new voting laws, the money spent to undo him as well as the pressure former President Donald Trump put on him to overturn the Georgia election results, President Joe Biden’s assertion he was enacting Jim Crow 2.0, and Trump’s return last year to campaign against him in the state’s primary.
Now, as the presidential primary contests loom without Kemp as a candidate, the governor talked to the Washington Examiner about his plans for Georgia as he enters his second term, his thoughts about Trump, and whether he has presidential ambitions of his own.
Washington Examiner: You defied Trump, but you kept the favor of your state — not in a squeaker but with an overwhelming victory. You upheld democracy without throwing your conservative beliefs under the bus. So why aren’t you running for president?

Kemp does not have the intestinal fortitude to be president. He is a two faced sleeze bag who allowed an election to be stolen.

He’s done really well. Trump attacked him viciously for keeping his state open and actively worked against him in the last gubernatorial election. Don’t forget that Trump was aggressively supporting both the lockdowns and the vaccination campaign which were ordered by his boss, Fauci.
Georgia has done a lot to clean up its election procedures and Kemp has stood firm against Stacey Adams and her ludicrous election denying and attempts to subvert his reforms.
Trump’s entering his state and trying to carry out a vendetta against him in the gubernatorial campaign was scandalous and wrong.
Kemp and Raffensperger made a dirty Dominion deal where they are allowed to keep their cushy state jobs as long as Democrats get the 2 Senate seats.
And we're supposed to believe that Republicans split their tickets and vote for a radical Commie for the Senate over Hershel Walker.
What ever happened to that county in GA where EVERY SINGLE MILITARY MAIL-IN was for Biden in 2020? That was never investigated, or if it was, it was never reported.

I would just say GA is a purple state because of the film industry.
Also, it’s OK not to be a Trump sycophant. Look at Thomas Massie, he defied Trump and is still popular among the base.
Yeah, much like DeSantis, he didn’t listen to the CDC, Fauci and Trump, and the state is better for it.
There’s a future for Kemp in the senate in ‘26. He won’t run-not a team player unless you figure in 2 wins over the water buffalo.
A politician will never fear an election rigged in his favour, except if you are a Clintoon
Trump lost GA in the last presidential race.
Trump backed senate candidates have lost senate races 3x over the last 2 1/2 years.
We can offer 1000 explanations as to why we lost those races but results matter. And I agree with Kemp saying we’re not going to win the White House unless we win GA.
Trump and Ronna haven’t fared that well over the last few years. Not sure what it is but winning matters.

I didn’t read the article. Does it mention that kemp used to travel around the state quite a bit a talk to the people. Now, not so much. He’s hated by all but the country club Republicans.
Did the author bring up the fact that his amazing campaign debt was erased, out of nowhere, and just by coincidence Kelly Loeffler, wife of the guy that of owns the NYSE, was appointed Senator.
He beat Abrams. Sure did. Not saying much in a state that is overwhelmingly Republican, for now.
Kemp does nothing but make backroom, shady deals with any company from California that promises 1000s of jobs that never materialize.
I wish he would run for President. It would be great to see him done in a week or two and gone from the landscape.

Kemp is robbing the taxpayer and giving all the money to Hollywood and other liberal California companies.
Raffensberger wants Ranked Choice Voting, No RunOffs-simple plurality wins.
Other than the stores being closed, except for the Democrat counties there want anyone paying attention to any of those “recommendations”. Most folks just carried on with their lives.
And thankfully, there were plenty of doctors who had access to cheap drugs that were helping people get over covid with zero issues.
