Dramatic new video shows a strap-hanger taking matters into his own hands, pinning down an unhinged man in a deadly incident at a Manhattan subway station this week.
The 24-year-old passenger stepped in after the vagrant, identified by sources as Jordan Neely, 30, began going on an aggressive rant on a northbound F train Monday afternoon, according to police and a witness who took the video.
“He starts to make a speech,” freelance journalist Juan Alberto Vazquez said in Spanish during an interview Tuesday, referring to the disturbed man.
“He started screaming in an aggressive manner,” Vazquez told The Post. “He said he had no food, he had no drink, that he was tired and doesn’t care if he goes to jail. He started screaming all these things, took off his jacket, a black jacket that he had, and threw it on the ground.”

Good on him! but sadly he prolly will be charged later- the US is really screwed up in the head right now-
Never second guess a survivor of a critical incident.
Because they survived, whatever they did was right.
Life is a real bitch and then you get choked out by a Marine!
What’s so shocking?
“Community policing” at its finest.
Here we go again....
If the DA charges him, it will send a clear message; “You’ll be charged whether you’re armed or not so you might as well be armed to the teeth.”
Rear naked choke. The Marine probably learned it in MCMAP. Ya gotta know to release a choke within a few seconds of the guy going unconscious. Guys get choked unconscious every day in MMA, but hold a choke 20 or 30 seconds too long and bad things happen. Depending on the autopsy, this Marine might be in deep trouble.
Apparently there was erratic behavior, yelling, breaching of the peace, but, as it turns out, nobody was physically accosted by the man. It sounds as if the sleeper hold the marine used to subdue him ended up killing him. This is a sad outcome.
“Pharmaceuticals” can alter outcomes.
The soldier is innocent. The perpetrator was always in the attack mode and never relaxed. All the punk had to do was relax, admit defeat and walk away.
From my reading, the crazy guy was at best a potential threat. He was ranting and threatening, but hadn't yet physically attacked anyone. The Marine made the first move.
This was an immensely stupid thing to do, for a white man to initiate an assault on a black men, and in New York City.
I expect he will be criminally charged. And sued in civil court. And have angry protestors outside his home and/or place of work. And whatever the legal outcome in criminal and civil trials, he will be devastated by legal fees.
Both he and his family are in for a world of hurt.
this one is 100% on the feet of the ACLU. this is what happens when you don’t lock up mentally ill folks.
i expect we will see more of this as people fight back.
God bless this young man for standing up to the task.
Aggressive, threatening vagrant prolly had eight times the legal limit of methamphetamine in his bloodstream anyway, so that may have contributed to his "untimely demise."
Regards,
It’s sad, but the man’s death was clearly a distinct possibility every time he went out in public the way he did, torturing large groups of people effectively trapped in subway cars and thereby being forced to contend with him and his out-of-control nonsense.
The phrase “I can’t breathe” seems as if it will be intoned by the usual suspects, for the usual reasons, to the detriment of the marine.
These incidents keep happening, like violence with store employees and aggressive shoplifters, because the laws are not enforce. This bum should have been arrested for vagrancy, disorderly conduct, etc. a long time ago. They just let him act that way on subway cars until eventually this happens. The marine may not have been legally justified, but consider the circumstances.
You cant speak in a choke hold.
