Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse... Now Oregon looks to DECRIMINALIZE encampments and let homeless SUE for $1,000 if they're harassed or told to leave: Furious Portland residents say they're being terrorized in their own neighborhoods

Democrat lawmakers in Oregon want to decriminalize homeless camps with a law that would allow the people who live in them to sue for $1,000 if they're harassed or told to leave.

The hugely-controversial bill claims 'decriminalization of rest' would allow city leaders to 'redirect' cash from law enforcement into measures that 'address the root causes of homelessness and poverty'.

But the proposal has been met with thousands of complaints - and comes as some in the embattled city of Portland plan to move because of the number of homeless camps.

The bill, HB 3501, was sponsored by Democrat representative Farrah Chaichi and her colleague, representative Khanh Pham. It will be discussed at a hearing of the state's House Committee On Housing and Homelessness on May 4.

'Many persons in Oregon have experienced homelessness as a result of economic hardship, a shortage of safe and affordable housing, the inability to obtain gainful employment and a disintegrating social safety net system,' the bill states.

'Decriminalization of rest allows local governments to redirect resources from local law enforcement activities to activities that address the root causes of homelessness and poverty.'

More than 2,000 letters of opposition have been submitted, compared to just 41 in support.

The bill would allow homeless people to 'use and move freely in public spaces without discrimination and time limitations' - essentially stating they can reside in parks and on other public land indefinitely without question.

'A person experiencing homelessness has a privacy interest and a reasonable expectation of privacy in any property belonging to the person, regardless of whether the property is located in a public space,' the bill adds.

Hope the law passes ASAP.

People on Oregon deserve to live in the hell hole they have created for themselves. The worse it gets , the sooner that the insanity will end.

I’m waiting for neighborhood protection groups to quietly form with anonymous members. I’m very surprised it hasn’t happened yet. Of course, the FBI is probably trying to bring these into existence which may be a big reason why no smart person wants to join any such group.

My wife and I am moved away from the Peoples Republic of Oregon a little over two years ago. We saw this coming. Moved to a red state and are very happy. Good luck to those people trying to sell their property in order to move.

To the few sane Portland residents remaining. If you haven’t gotten the hint to leave already, consider this your last warning.

The majority voted for this. And they are getting it good and hard. The voters that voted for this likely have not learned a lesson.

you Oregon majority voters deserve the government you vote for.

You had a chance last year to shake off the shackles, but just could not vote for Evil Abortion Denying Republicans, because that’s exactly what the demonrats and their DNCMedia pets wanted you to think.

For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.

Secure your elections, Oregon.

That is all it will take to fix this.

Did the nation vote for the POTATUS?

Did AZ vote for Hobbs?

See where I’m going with this?

If we were willing to vote for self-extinction, Deep State wouldn’t have to steal elections, would it...

I wish. But I’m afraid it will just get worse so the gimmecrats can seize more power.

When I was homeless after the Arson, Anarchist Alameda fire, the authorities were pissy about my parking anywhere to try to sleep! There were no motel rooms with thousands evacuated.

They’re going to keep doing things like this until there is an effective response from the people who are fed up with it.
