"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs"
Following the words of Karl Marx, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs”, California’s corrupt power monopolies are going full Commie.
Three major utility companies in California are looking to restructure customer billing, and part of that means customers could be charged based on how much money they make.
Sure, why not? Charging people based on what they use, rather than the tier they occupy in the social justice human pyramid is too capitalist anyway.
Southern California Edison, Pacific Gas & Electric and San Diego Gas & Electric filed a joint proposal this week for a flat-rate charge based on income.
The income-based bill proposal is part of the companies’ compliance with legislation passed by the California state government last year requiring these types of plans for utilities.
What’s next, a proposal for supermarkets that can charge you based on your income for bread and eggs? Also, Best Buy should charge you for a new phone based on your earnings. Airline tickets? There can be three tiers based on earnings.
Not that it matters how much California utilities charge for power that they can’t deliver anyway to people fleeing the state as fast as they can.
If you like your Communism, you can keep your Communism.

The USA, particularly its most woke parts, seem to be in a race between implementing marxism, and bankruptcy and collapse.
Which will happen first?
Maybe they will reach the finish line at the same time.
Guaranteed Pelosi will be exempted
Can’t say that I will shed a tear for the big-mouthed Hollywood jerks.
They already do it for college tuition, at least for 80% of students, so why not electricity prices, then car prices, then grocery prices, then...
Of course they will be exempt.
What about commercial business accounts? Are they to double next?
Likely other state unions as well. That's where the votes are!
So if you make $100K a year, they could charge you $5K a month for the same bill they now charge a few hundred (guessing on that number).
Rich or poor, you might as well increase your electrical usage since the amount of power used doesn’t matter on your bill.
Great way to encourage conservation!
As well as any upper level d.
What about daily electricity use quotas based on your social score?
More reasons to leave the state and allow them to become the woke Amish living in the agrarian 1700s the seem to desperately want to be.
Or live like they do in Panama with the poor folk living in old wooden apartments or concrete house slums using stolen electricity and water, families taking out 30 year house mortgages to afford a car, and the betters living on top of the hills with there German cars and partying in the better sections of the city. the tourists visiting the preplanned places to ensure they have a good time but see little of wrong parts of the country.
Oh, right, its already there.
So-—the single “mother” with 9 kids who lives on various welfare programs & with 9 kids USED alot more power than I do-—SHE PAYS ZILCH & I pay more-—to support Her???
Better book your rental truck right now, California is getting emptied.
Same for me.
Along with Adam Schiffhead, Agent Smith Swalwell and Crazy Katie Hill.
The part no one is paying attention to:
THE POWER COMPANIES WOULD HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR TAX RECORDS!!!!
I’m of the mind that everyone should pay something. Nothing should be free. Everybody should pay federal income tax.
it cost money to get you electricity and is based on your consumption. Not your ability to pay. That should not change.
Y’all vote for idiots that drive up the cost, you should pay for that decision.
I understand the concept that the rich can afford to pay more, but people that pay nothing demanding that “theft” (Tax)should also be examined.
"flat-rate charge based on income"
Imagine the future if your bill is not based on usage?
I always wanted to have a welding shop, and a grow house, and bitcoin mining and ....
and no more fighting with the wife over the thermostat.
