International criminals have been targeting wealthy homes on America’s coast, but now those same thieves are moving into the heartland.
Thieves from South America are making their way to the U.S., renting expensive cars to fit in with high-end neighborhoods, and then striking when homeowners are away.
It’s called “crime tourism,” a type of organized crime that has been reported on America’s coasts in recent years. But more recently, these thieves are making their way to the central U.S., catching homeowners off guard and causing headaches for law enforcement.

That has a better chance of stopping them than anything else
There was an organized gang of thieves in our neck of the woods who would rob summer homes in the off season, and hit businesses at night, onowing where the money was stored somehow (one resteraunt lost over $10 grand- they never got any back either according to the owner), then they would sell the stuff they got, then go to Las Vegas to whoop it up for the wi ter and spring, then turn around and come back and do it all over again.

True, but it’s easy to figure out if anyone is home, if the gangs have access to their Smart Meter (for electricity). Obviously these gangs have some kind of electronic monitoring before they hit, since it wouldn’t be very productive to case the places for days in a row.
