Prof. John Quelch discusses the BRICS nations announcing their own currency, in a bid to break away from the US dollar.

The BRICS represent the majority of the global market. Ignoring the irreparable harm Via its hand puppet homobama is doing via his hand puppet dopey joe is just whistling past the graveyard.
Wonder if countries are willing to deal in currencies under control of a communist country? The value of the currency will be manipulated to the advantage of the communist country.
Here’s one of many articles discussing BRICS growing global power. This shift is already happening and will, I believe anyway, rapidly accelerate — particularly if (when) Saudi Arabia joins.

However they will bring most of the continent of Africa and the middle east with them
There are two ways to obtain treasure.
Capitalism
Or Pillaging
I suspect we are in for the second.
I was more of a deadhead back in they day but damn, they put on a great show!
“...Or Pillaging...”
if you read some of the internet stuff from their countries, especially the comments (translation needed), that is exactly what they say about us (the USA).
Ultimately, the strength of the dollar comes from a combination of factors that is hard for any rival or group of rivals to match: America's large size and economic and technological strength; the depth of America's financial markets; the attractiveness of America's culture and political ideals; America's economic transparency and rule of law; America's system of mutually beneficial alliances and international financial organizations; and the great power and sophistication of America's military.
The Euro and the EU could not match the power of the dollar and America, so why would a BRICs currency do any better? It won't. Instead, it will be a boutique currency for trade among its supporters. Full access to the world economy will still require dollars though -- even for countries most hostile to the US.
Yes, I suspect that they have a point.
The more I read the less I like
And the working and middle classes was pillaged by the business/political interests here as well.
where people want to live is unimportant.
what currency is used for trading major commodities is.
“BRICS nations announce plan for joint currency”
How STUPID can any country be to not put their “Full Faith and Trust” in the US Dollar...no one here would EVER steal that money.
Yuck.
Yuck yuck.
Yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck.
Damm, sorry can’t keep a straight face. I really tried!!!
The dollar will not be eliminated, it will be demoted to just another currency. It will not be necessary for the oil trade, which is one reason central banks have maintained large dollar balances. If Saudi gets any more pissed at us, OPEC may just crown the yuan the new petrocurrency, which would be a real blow.

What happens after that? If there aren’t massive cuts in government spending, the dollar will again lose a lot of value.
Of course China will manipulate their currency. We have been manipulating the dollar for generations. Why wouldn’t China feel justified in doing the same? And if OPEC decides that to buy their oil you have to pay in yuan, then yes, the world will line up at the window to buy currency from a communist country.
It’s called the Forex market.
Once it’s clear there will be a new currency, countries will race to be the first to create a gold based currency. I guess an European country will do it.
Before Hitler the German government did what these idiots are doing now, its will not end well for them in the end if this keeps Jason Whitlock said it best we are passed the time of negotiation and working with these fools.
