".....Dershowitz went on to suggest that Trump’s case will likely not be dismissed, saying that “I don’t think that if you had the best lawyers in the history of the world, Abraham Lincoln and John Marshall, a New York City judge would dismiss this case because that New York City judge’s life would be over.”....
.....However, he added that the case would “be reversed on appeal,” and it “will never be affirmed all the way up to the Supreme Court.”..."

“overcharging with 34 counts” - “legal gymnastics”
Fishing Expedition? - Someone overly investigating or demanding information from an individual or organization. In law, the term is most used to describe using the discovery phase of a lawsuit to demand too much information based on hunches and accusations.
All details of the charges haven’t been released, just a general list of what Trump will be facing. It looks like Bragg may be relying on a mix of State and Federal violations, with a real question of whether Bragg can cite Federal crimes to support State charges. That’s where Federal courts may want to get involved.
Also, the NY Supreme Ct. has been more even-handed in some cases than expected. They overturned Bill Cosby’s convictions based on an earlier written agreement with Prosecutors, which lower Courts had ignored. They overturned Democratic gerrymandering of Congressional Districts, which gave Republicans several more U.S. House seats in NY in the last election.
This why the City of New York should and will be nuked and wiped from the face of the Earth. Modern day Babylon and was been predicted over 2000 years ago.
Yes legal gymnastics. Once they complete one never before performed move they move to the next.
Trump’s case is currently before the Supreme Court, New York County. The New York Supreme Court, New York County, is where felony trials are heard. The highest court in New York is the Court of Appeals.
I agree with Dershowitz, that Trump will be convicted as the jury will be Braggs’ people. However, I don’t know how Trump’s case in New York, would jump to the United States Supreme Court.
And if that is true....I'd move and sell my business and open up somewhere else. If they can do it to President, they can and will do it to you. They are now Communists.
They did it to Ollie North.
Dershowitz was on Hannity.
I watched 45 seconds.
Hannity was at his all time worst. ...and that’s saying something.
Radio legend Bob Grant would call Hannity a “wallbanger.”
“On what grounds could it be appealed to the US Supreme Court since it is a NY State matter?”
How do you believe cases progress to the USSC?
Sure, some are Federal but most are State.
I have a relative who argued three cases (Montana) in front of the USSC and all three were state issues - nothing involved with the US Government or Federal statutes at all.
Trump’s only hope is that one juror is a conservative who wants to move out of New York City after this is over. Because if you don’t vote to convict I have a feeling the city residents will make you disappear
I’d also say because the state is relying on federal law for which they have no jurisdiction
A lot ... i mean a lot.. of people don’t care if Trump is innocent.. they want him convicted of something ..anything.
It justifies their own warped.. selfish.. existence.
11 of the counts are 3 parters===33 counts
NONE of them are correct—it is all a sham to keep Trump tangled up & out of the Oval Office.
This is the sole purpose of the suit. Tie up DJTrump and suppress fund raising. A different way to corrupt the election and install BeijingBiden for the final term — final for the US.
The reasoning is plausible.
Yes buy when democrats are in charge they bring out their own law books you know the ones that look like Swiss cheese.
No, It causes fund raising to explode….but.
The intention is to have Trump convicted so that key states can refuse to put him on the ballot.
“...a New York City judge would dismiss this case because that New York City judge’s life would be over.”
1. Constitutional due process and rights of accused.
2. I believe they are using federal law
3. Manhattan da receives federal funds
Andrew McCarthy says they have not stated what constituted the crimes he is accused of. That appears to violate due process.
