Ukie situation similar to that of Japan after the Marianas fell...
RE: Without the Billions in military aid Ukraine could have been over run last year.
The “Who knew” factor is why I don’t make predictions.
I trust the thoughts of Conor McGregor more than this Douglas guy. I still think this thing ends with some territory concessions but Putin will not win in a rout.
You're exactly right here.
What are you talking about Chauncey?
What does that even mean? How does Russia "get out"? How does Ukraine "get out"?
The US is keeping the proxy war going by providing the lion's share of weapons and funds. We pay the salaries and pensions of the Ukrainian government, including the military. We have the leverage to force Ukraine to the negotiating table and end the senseless death and destruction. We could have prevented the second Russian invasion thru diplomacy. Instead we provoked it.
This war has been going on since 2014. Zelensky campaigned as the peace candidate. The longer it goes on the less support it will have from Europe and the US public. We can't continuing borrowing money to fund a proxy war that does not involve our strategic national interests. We are being led by fools.
“”What does that even mean? How does Russia “get out”? How does Ukraine “get out”?””
Russia quits invading and goes home.
Is Crimea home? Is the Donbas home?
So you insist on warmongering and building empire.
Russia could just go home, but as you demonstrate, you want war.
Just the opposite. I want a negotiated peace settlement and cease fire now. Ultimately, this is how the war will end absent a complete takeover of Ukraine by Russia. We are prolonging this proxy war, which has as its real objectives the removal of Putin, a declared war criminal, and the weakening of the Russian military. Biden and Austin have specifically stated these objectives.
Russia could just go home, but as you demonstrate, you want war.
Russia annexed Crimea in a bloodless takeover in 2014 followed by a plebiscite, which the public voted overwhelmingly to join Russia. Half of the Ukrainian army in Crimea stayed and joined the Russians. The other half went back to Ukraine. The headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is in Sevastopol, a city within Crimea with special status. On 21 March, 2014 the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol became the 84th and 85th federal subjects of Russia.
Russia considers Crimea as part of Russia. An attack against Crimea is an attack on the Russian homeland. Russia will defend Crimea by any means necessary, including nuclear weapons. Now the four entities within the Donbas have the same status. They are part of Russia. FYI: The separatist movement in the Donbas was spawned in 2014 after the US/NATO engineered coup of the legitimately elected Ukrainian government. The separatists in the Donbas have been fighting the Ukrainian government ever since. The separatists claim that the Ukrainian government killed 13,000 of them before the second Russian invasion.
Bottom line: Russia will not cede the territory it or its surrogates have held since 2014. The best Ukraine can do is a return to the borders prior to the beginning of the war in 2022.
No, they are a part of Ukraine. The Russians themselves agreed to that in the past. In 2014 Putin decided he did not like the fact that they were parts of another country so he seized them.
Why is that hard to understand? Haven't you ever looked at a map?
You forgot the part about how the Russian aligned militias forced people to vote for secession. When has an "election" run by Russians been legitimate?
You will never have clarity if you play that many Orwellian mind games with yourself.
Pay no attention to Bolshevik gaslighting on this topic. Russians from Moscow like Igor Girkin stole Crimea at gunpoint. Putin even gave them medals.
Rout isn’t the word for it. The nato fops and neocon wankers running this shitshow are going to make George Custer look like the all-time winner.
Yes, have you? Russia controls this territory and incorporated it into Russia. That is called reality. Ukraine does not have the ability to take back Crimea. Nor does NATO unless it wants to escalate the war to include nuclear weapons.
The Syrians consider the Golan Heights as part of Syria. The UN has not recognized the lands seized by Israel during its various wars as part of Israel. So what?
That they did.
And a brutal slugfest it was.
Zhukov that magnificent bastard.
The US hasn’t faced a peer opponent since WWII.

How long has it been since the USA has WON a war?
Hmmm.... So what is/are the common denominator/s?
Bull shit
I watch him almost daily on various podcasts
I just watched him this morning on schaffers podcast for an hour
Who hasn’t been wrong on this?
Western propaganda has been 95% lies and fabrications
MacGregor when he thought Russia parked outside Kiev would force a settlement quickly a year ago
So did most folks
We nixed that
Now a year later ukraine likely ends up far worse
So who was more “wrong “
The guys military cred in the field is quite strong
Russia's Crimea plan detailed, secret and successful
When has an "election" run by Russians been legitimate?
Was the US 2020 election legitimate? People in glass houses....
