Donald Trump will be placed under arrest on Tuesday and informed that he has been charged with 34 felony counts for falsification of business records, according to a source who has been briefed on the procedures for the arraignment of the former president.
A New York City Police arrest report summarizing the charges against Trump will then be prepared and entered into the court system before he is led into a courtroom to be formally arraigned on the charges, none of which are misdemeanors.
But, the source said, Trump will not be put in handcuffs, placed in a jail cell or subjected to a mug shot — typical procedures even for white-collar defendants until a judge has weighed in on pretrial conditions. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, which has been consulting with the Secret Service and New York City court officials, concluded that there was no reason to subject the former president to handcuffs or a mug shot.

The SOL for felonies is five years. I only know CA law, not NY. There’s apparently some law that tolls… pauses the SOL in some circumstances where the defendant is out of state. But the gaping hole in that argument is that they DID indict him when he was out of state. This case is a decidedly leaky boat

Ok, but I’ve been following this case like a hawk and I’ve never heard that. Remember in any event…. It’s not the payments to daniels that are illegal, it’s the alleged misprepresenting them on the company books. Has that happened in the last two years so as to be inside the statute? Absolutely not. The Ferderal Election Commission was investigating this in 2018, and they most certainly did not keep doing any alleged wrongdoing after that.
The Alex Jones trial was a leaky boat, too. But the boat is still floating. They even had movie cameras in the court room to edit just how bad Jones is for future brainwashing movie use. All other citizens cameras in the court were verboten.
