The SOL for felonies is five years. I only know CA law, not NY. There’s apparently some law that tolls… pauses the SOL in some circumstances where the defendant is out of state. But the gaping hole in that argument is that they DID indict him when he was out of state. This case is a decidedly leaky boat

The Alex Jones trial was a leaky boat, too. But the boat is still floating. They even had movie cameras in the court room to edit just how bad Jones is for future brainwashing movie use. All other citizens cameras in the court were verboten.

So, if someone was out of state -already-, then the pause in SoL wouldn’t occur.

Then, the event triggering the charge was in 2016 and -no later-, so add five years and it runs out in 2021.

They missed it by 2 years, so throw it out on account of the SoL running out.
