Trade between India and Malaysia is now able to be settled with Indian Rupees, the India Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced in a statement Saturday.
This move strikes a blow to the hegemony US dollar. “This initiative by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is aimed at facilitating the growth of global trade and to support the interests of the global trading community in Indian Rupees (INR),” the statement from the MEA reads.

That oughta do it.
Once the USD crashes, and the hard times arrive in force: you guys have a lot going for you.
Just for instance:
* An armed populace which is more politically engaged than those of most countries.
* Easily defensible borders - at least in principle.
* No lack of natural resources - at least in principle.
* The Constitution
Trump won in a landslide, and was cheated out of it. You guys didn’t do this to yourselves. The Left did it all.
When I was in India on a job a couple of decades ago, I took a walk and saw a sign that said something like “Severe fine for littering!” The amount of the fine was about a quarter. Since we have the Biden gang running things now, Indian currency might be a little stronger compared to ours.
our officials are not following the constitution now and especially in the last 3 years, what makes you think they will use it correctly after the fall?
...(sigh)...
I don’t like the implications any more than you do, but math is math. If your interest rates rise, because you are no longer the reserve currency, it has to be paid for somehow.
Oh, THERE’s that scorecard I was looking for!
Now, so long as we’re keeping score of who’s friendly and who’s not...
You mentioned India, Russia, China, North Korea, Mexico, and a host of Islamic Cult countries; countries that that are working with the BRICS alliance. But who else?
From your quote regarding India: “...They trade with Russia, funding Russia...”
Japan: recently agree for NEW oil deals with Russia.
France: has resumed buying oil from Russia.
Now, before I continue, Russia is about the only country in the planet supplying enriched uranium. But I digress...
New BRICS Applicants:
Algeria applied in 2022
Argentina applied in 2022
Iran applied in 2022
Nations interested in membership
Afghanistan]
Egypt
Indonesia
Saudi Arabia
Syria
Turkey <— so called NATO ally
BRICS Expansion Dialogue participant nations
Kazakhstan
Nicaragua
Nigeria
Senegal
Thailand
United Arab Emirates
According to other news reports, the following nations have at least expressed interest:
Algiers, Argentina, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Egypt, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Syria, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe.
Note on this list are Egypt, Nigeria, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and South Africa (host member). In real terms, that’s ALL of Africa .
Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela? If they join, you can assume the rest of South American will follow.
And throw in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) which is made up of India, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Now, take a look at a globe and highlight all these countries. Then take a look at what’s left.
Bottom Line, the world is slowing ditching the dollar. If we’d like to consider anyone doing business with Russia and/or China as an enemy, then we may soon have little to know friends left.
None of that changes when the abandon the dollar, but it does raise concerns and opportunities. First, maybe we stop funding their defense? Maybe we bring our troops home? Maybe we deport their citizens? Maybe we stop buying their products? Maybe, yes, maybe time for us to play hardball.
... and will and can China replace the funding we provide all of these countries? I seriously doubt it.
Yeah.
Right.
Make any serious move to reduce the single largest US Government program, and the supposed 'conservatives' on this very forum will excoriate you.
"Conservatives" are addicted to socialism.
That’s why i think they’ll try to go international Jubilee but the greedy bastards who run things trust each least than they would the little people.
