A Second Amendment Grade for President Trump So Far
https://www.heritage.org/firearms/commentary/second-amendment-grade-president-trump-so-far
1. As with Trump’s rhetoric, most of his administration’s policy efforts have been consistent with his promise to protect the right to keep and bear arms.
2. In his first term, President Trump largely lived up to his promise to protect Americans’ Second Amendment rights.
3. There have been a few missteps along the way, but on the whole, the Trump Administration has kept its word when it comes to our right to keep and bear arms.
In his most recent State of the Union address, President Donald Trump promised the American people, “So long as I am President, I will always protect your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms.” This was certainly a welcome statement from any elected official, particularly from the nation’s chief executive during a time of unprecedented attacks on the Second Amendment by many local, state, and federal lawmakers.
But how has the President’s first term stacked up against his grand promise? When we step back from the hype and honestly assess Trump’s performance with respect to the Second Amendment, what do we actually find? Fortunately, when we take a hard look at the bad and the good in three important categories—the President’s rhetoric, policy, and judicial nominations—it is evident that Trump has gotten the Second Amendment right more often than he has gotten it wrong.

A recent new angle of attack is to push a narrative that Trump is against the 2nd Amendment.
This is just the beginning of more gaslighting to come.
Well he did mess up on bump stocks.
This effort will fail badly. No matter what quote they dig up Trump is obviously way better on the 2A than any rat he would face and DeSantis is pretty much on a par with Trump.
BTTT
Steven Cheung, a Trump spokesman said that “there had been no bigger defender of the Second Amendment than President Trump.” He said that Trump had offered other proposals after mass shootings, such as adding security guards to schools and allowing teachers who are licensed to carry a weapon to do so.
The Liar Media isn't the one posting old news to FR.
Drew 68 is saddened.
And the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has struck that down.

In the most allowable context interpretation of 2A where most any gun/type/apparatus would be operative, I’d say you’re right.
But I can certainly understand what prompted him to ban bump stocks. Tremendous pressure. We’d JUST been through that Las Vegas concert fiasco and NOTHING from our ATF, FBI or any LE for that matter except that “bump stocks make machine guns” and they be bad. So, I’m not gonna sit here and say he’s against 2A. Leftists, media and gun haters everywhere worked a successful campaign to put bumpstocks in the same leftist rhetoric category as “gun show loopholes,” “straw purchasers,” and private sales without NICS checks.
“But I can certainly understand what prompted him to ban bump stocks. Tremendous pressure”
That is probably the worst possible argument you can make. We elected him to stand up to the pressure. That’s what he was supposed to do. Follow that logically; now the pressure is to ban sporting rifles. Would he succumb to that pressure as well?
Why, because Drew68 isn't getting paid well by his handlers?
I think the extension of your pressure argument with regard to “sporting rifles” is a bit far-fetched, myself. Now if you want to say “assault rifles” and in the context of AR-15 and AK clones (not MGs) then I’d say, yeah, that’s a clear departure from 2A, IMO. He didn’t do that.
President Trump executed an Executive Order, not Congressional Statute on bump stocks. There’s nothing stopping that EO from being negated by a future President.

Assault rifle. You’re using the terminology of idiots. You don’t know what the hell you’re even talking about. No thanks.
Just ran across this post. Maybe it will help you.

If the article was re-written today, one percent of the weight would go to what is mentioned in the article. Ninety-nine percent of the weight would be given to the recent Bruen decision.
I believe that a federal district court judge ruled since the Bruen decision that the requirement to have a serial number on a firearm is unConstitutional, based on the mandate from Bruen.
Without serial numbers, much of gun control becomes totally impractical. That would be a good thing.
I know what a true assault rifle is. Don’t be condescending.
Screw off, pup
The article rebuts criticism circulating today that Trump is anti-2nd Amendment; he is not.
Right now, there is a new angle of attack to divide and confuse MAGA followers from President Trump. Thus argument us an objective review and analysis of Trump’s position on guns.
