NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – At least four people are dead, including the shooter, following an “active shooter” situation at a school in Green Hills.
The Nashville Fire Department said the incident happened at Covenant School located at 33 Burton Hills Boulevard. Metro police reported that officers engaged the shooter, who is dead. A spokesperson with Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt confirmed to News 2’s Kendall Ashman that three children were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, but have died from their injuries.
Hospital officials also said two adults were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and have died from their injuries.

Oh, dude, stop sniffing the glue! Back in the day, my dear dead husband (DDH) owned a gazillion guns...well, over 20 long guns and a lot of handguns at the very least. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gun safety instructor.
None of his students have had any negative gun actions.
Sadly, can't say the same for DDH. One day he took the tiniest of the guns (it was so puny, no one even knew he had it, it wasn't one that he bragged on. It was a classic Saturday Night Special...handed down from a not-blood relative) and went to the woods, made a few phone calls and then shot himself.
I was devastated. However, I never blamed the gun (did tell the police to destroy it) or any of the arsenal I inherited. Welp, of course, there was a tragic boating accident and now I don't have to worry about locking guns up.
The gun didn't commit the crime. The person pulling the trigger committed the crime. How about we dump a billion into mental health care and see if we can't fix the PEOPLE who are pulling the triggers?

Guns should be readily available.

Calling out for banning/confiscating firearms is stupid.
Notoriety is one reason assholes shoot up schools. Schools being a soft target is another reason.
Availability of firearms is not the issue. Eradicate all firearms and what do we have next?

Assholes who want to become notorious or just want to kill, particularly innocents like children, are fucked up in the head. It’s really that simple, and there is precious little we will ever be able to do to avoid tragedies like this.
Pointing your rage at inanimate objects may make you “feel” good, but it also does nothing to solve the root issue of assholes who decide to commit mass murder.
Is there even a solution? I doubt it.
