Trump issues veiled threat ahead of possible indictment: ‘They tell us to be peaceful!”
The New York Post ^ | 03/23/2023 | Steve Janoski

Posted on 03/23/2023 9:58:20 AM PDT by thegagline

Former President Donald Trump posted an all-caps rant Thursday morning on his social media network that referred to the American legal system as “the Gestapo” and groused, “Our country is being destroyed, as they tell us to be peaceful!”

“Why won’t Bragg drop this case?” Trump, 76, lamented, referencing Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and his drive to indict the ex-president over a “hush money” payment made to former porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.

“Everybody says there is no crime here. I did nothing wrong!” Trump continued in the post on Truth Social. “This is no legal system, this is the Gestapo, this is Russia and China, but worse. Disgraceful!”

The Queens-born Florida resident also called Bragg a “Soros-backed animal who just doesn’t care about right or wrong no matter how many people are hurt.”

“He is just carrying out the plans of the radical left lunatics,” Trump wrote. “Our country is being destroyed, as they tell us to be peaceful!”

Trump’s inflammatory kicker came after the twice-impeached former president put out a rallying cry to his followers last week, calling on them to protest what he predicted would be his arrest in Bragg’s investigation Tuesday.

It raised fears of violence in light of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot, when fanatical Trump supporters stormed and trashed the US Capitol building following his 2020 election loss to former Vice President Joe Biden. The mob’s attack led to five deaths, scores of injuries, and countless indictments and jail terms for the rioters.

Local and federal law enforcement braced for unrest following Trump’s call for his fans to protest his predicted arrest, but neither a bust nor major demonstrations materialized.***

Only a phony poser would be ignorant of and care less about the 8th Amendment requirement that prisoners receive sufficient nutrition to keep them healthy.

“Why didn’t Trump pardon from Jan 6 to Jan 20?”

Another bull sh*t comment.

Most of those people where not even ID’d, charged or arrested until long after that slick. So explain to me who Trump could have pardoned hundreds how had not even been charged yet and their alleged crimes had not even been investigated at that point?

??

If you go by his actions, your answer is YES. He doesn't widely publicize it, so you may not be aware that President Trump is helping J6 defendents with their legal bills.

“Cynthia Hughes, who is collecting money to help Jan. 6 defendants — her “Patriot Freedom Project” web site offers visitors the opportunity to make a “1/6 Thanksgiving Pledge” — appeared on Trump adviser Steve Bannon’s podcast and urged Trump to act. “They’re disappointed they haven’t heard from him. They’re disappointed he hasn’t spoken out,” she said on Nov. 13, 2021. “President Trump, I need to hear from you. I need to hear from you immediately, because we need your help, and we need to know that you’re behind us. That you support these people that support you.”

Trump didn’t pardon any of the January 6th protesters who were arrested before Trump left office.

Damn liars...

So explain to me how Trump could have pardoned the J6 folks who most of which had not even been charged yet and their alleged crimes had not even been investigated at that point? At that point, Trump wouldn't even have a clue, who exactly he was pardoning or what they were even charged with.

Another Trump hating phony you are!

The fact remains that Trump didn't pardon any of the January 6th protesters who were arrested before he left office.

The arrests and bookings were easily accessible to Trump as the United States Attorney's Office (the prosecutors) served under Trump's DOJ. So as Chief Executive, it is well within Trump's authority.

Those are the facts, like it or not.

President Trump really needs to work on his punctuation and overuse of exclamation points. He seems to use it at inopportune times, including when sending condolences to someone who has passed. It is often cringeworthy. But yes I will still vote for him, before anyone tries to claim otherwise.

Re: 71 - But he could have pardoned those arrested prior to his leaving office.

https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/capitol-breach-cases?combine=&order=field_case_multi_number&sort=desc

At that website, I counted 14 people who were arrested prior to 2021/01/18 and was not halfway through the list.

For whatever reason, rightly or wrongly, President Trump chose not to pardon those arrested prior to his leaving office.

Don’t be stupid. It takes time after arrests to charge and investigate alleged criminal charges, and often charges are added after the fact. Trump had no clue who these people were or what their charges were.

Or did you want Trump to willy nilly start pardoning people within a few days of the event, even it was found or suspected all or some were outside influences, instigating the event?

The devil is in the details. Pay attention.

LOL. You got busted for posting something not correct.

You then make excuses for why there’s no way President Trump could not possibly been able to pardon people arrested prior pro to even 01/18.

You do realize that first arrests were reported in newspapers and on the TV, correct? Yes? No?

Please stop making excuses for someone who was the most powerful person of the most powerful country in the world. Just admit you got busted and learn from it.

Just one more thing....If Trump had pardoned some of those people within days of the event, as you suggested he should have done, and it turned out they had evidence Trump didn’t even know about, depicting these individual committing real crimes, what the hell do you think they’d do to Trump?

That’s a setup pal... Did ya want Trump to set himself up for these corrupt screw worms?
