Howdy, Kathy.

You made it to Hump Day!

It was a fairly nice day up there until a short while ago. It looks like snow is finally starting to creep over the mountains. It’s tried a couple of times but didn’t succeed. Will it succeed this time?

Howdy, PRO.

How’s your week going so far? Still enjoying warmer weather?

WET here today, and a bit chilly. It was supposed to be mid 60s but barely cracked 50.
Tomorrow is SUPPOSED to hit 80. I’ll believe it when I feel it.

Yo radu!

We had a nice, sunny 60+ degree day today and I was out and about doing some shopping and enjoying the warmth.

It's going to cool down but I know Spring has sprung and nicer temps are on the way.

Not much else happening so far.

Your day sounds nice! I’d hoped the rain would be out of here this afternoon so we could have a decent afternoon but that didn’t happen. If tomorrow turns out like they predict, I’ll be able to get out and about to get a few things done.
We have more wet systems coming through over the next several days so I need to get out while the gettin’s good.

I imagine we’ll both ride the roller coaster for a while yet. Warm, cool, warm, cool. And before we know it, we’ll be whining that it’s too hot. LOL

March 23

Why Do This?

Bible in a Year:

The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul.

Psalm 19:7 As I was helping my sixth-grade grandson, Logan, with some tough algebra-type homework, he told me of his dream of becoming an engineer. After we returned to figuring out what to do with the x’s and y’s in his assignment, he said, “When am I ever going to use this stuff?”

I couldn’t help but smile, saying, “Well, Logan, this is exactly the stuff you’ll use if you become an engineer!” He hadn’t realized the connection between algebra and his hoped-for future.

Sometimes we view Scripture that way. When we listen to sermons and read certain parts of the Bible, we may think, “When am I ever going to use this?” The psalmist David had some answers. He said God’s truths found in Scripture are effective for “refreshing the soul,” “making wise the simple,” and “giving joy to the heart” (Psalm 19:7–8). The wisdom of Scripture, found in the first five books of the Bible as referred to in Psalm 19 (as well as all of Scripture), helps us as we daily rely on the Spirit’s leading (Proverbs 2:6).

And without the Scriptures, we’d lack the vital way God has provided for us to experience Him and better know His love and ways. Why study the Bible? Because “the commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes” (Psalm 19:8).

Reflect & Pray

Why is the wisdom found in Scripture relevant for you today? How can you grow in your understanding of it?

Loving God, please make Your Word a light to my path. Help me to use the wisdom of Scripture to direct my steps and grow to love You more.

I am for sure! And it was a beautiful...if dry as a bone...spring day. We had the door open till just a few minutes ago.

Hope your day was a good one, too. Did you oversleep again? LOL!

A good, long night’s sleep works wonders, doesn’t it? LOL
No, I slept my normal time this time. I really wasn’t all that sleepy when I went to bed this morning after so much sleep yesterday.

It was a sloppy day here so I just stayed in. It finally stopped raining around 4:30 this afternoon. We didn’t get nearly as warm as predicted so the windows stayed shut. I’ll open them tomorrow ....... or leave them closed and turn on the A/C. LOL They say we’ll hit 80 tomorrow but we’ll see.

Don’t want to mess up your thread, I just didn’t know where to put this or who to ask—has anyone seen humblegunner?

I haven’t seen his name for a while and was wondering if he’s okay.

Well, I don’t wish 80 on anyone, but I hope it’s pretty there for a change. You need some sunshine in your life.

I don’t mind 80 right now after what we’ve had lately. It’s just for one day, then we back off into 70s for a while.
It’s supposed to be fairly pretty tomorrow but it’ll be windy through Friday ahead of the front coming through Friday night. That’s the rough one and it should be here a little after midnight.

Ours is supposed to back off after tomorrow, too. I’m glad. It’ll be hot soon enough. I need to eeeeaaaase into it.

I hope you get a chance to enjoy the day tomorrow. Sounds like a good time to get the errands run.
