BREAKING: DeSantis declares 'I can win the Presidency'
The Post Millennial ^ | Mar 21, 2023 | The Post Millennial

Posted on 03/22/2023 8:02:46 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has finally broken his silence on his much anticipated potential 2024 presidential run, giving an interview from the governor's mansion in which he said that he has what it takes to be president and "I can beat Biden."

DeSantis sat down with Piers Morgan in a wide-ranging interview, saying "stay tuned" when asked about the potential 2024 bid for the GOP nomination. Former President Donald Trump is currently the front-runner for that spot, as he endeavors to earn his second term.

"It was clear that the governor has had enough of Trump’s constant baiting and felt ready to take him on in what could end up being a ferocious battle for the White House," Morgan said, writing about the interview for the New York Post.

"DeSantis slammed Trump over his character failings," Morgan continued, "chaotic leadership style, and for his handling of the COVID pandemic — especially in keeping controversial health chief Dr. Anthony Fauci in his post helping to run the White House Coronavirus Taskforce."

Morgan asked DeSantis how the two most popular Republicans in the country are different, and DeSantis said "Well I think there’s a few things. The approach to COVID was different. I would have fired somebody like Fauci. I think he got way too big for his britches, and I think he did a lot of damage."

DeSantis shut down Florida early on in the pandemic before opening up and giving the state the label "the free state of Florida."

"I also think just in terms of my approach to leadership," DeSantis said, slamming the former president and the man to whom he owes much of his political start, "I get personnel in the Government who have the agenda of the people and share our agenda. You bring your own agenda in you’re gone. We’re just not gonna have that. So, the way we run the Government I think is no daily drama, focus on the big picture and put points on the board and I think that’s something that’s very important."

Morgan asked about the mudslinging that has already started as rumors of a DeSantis run swirl. "I don’t know how to spell the sanctimonious one. I don’t really know what it means, but I kinda like it, it’s long, it's got a lot of vowels. We’ll go with that, that’s fine. I mean you can call me whatever you want, just as long as you also call me a winner because that’s what we’ve been able to do in Florida, is put a lot of points on the board and really take this State to the next level," he said.

Trump endorsed DeSantis when he first ran for governor, helping him beat out Andrew Gillum. "Ron DeSantis is a brilliant young leader. Yale and then Harvard who would make a great Governor of Florida. He loves our country. He’s a true fighter," Trump had said at the time.

"Things have changed a little bit, I guess. It is what it is," DeSantis said.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.

The comment to which I replied:

He can’t. Millions of MAGA will stay home.

I'm right. You know I'm right, and it's just eating away at your soul ...

I pity you.

Have a nice day!

Desantis is not coming off as authentic... There are people in this world who say what they mean and mean what they say, I am not getting that vibe from Desantis, vibe is far more what I felt and witnessed from folks like OZ or Clinton, or countless other politicians trying to play a role.

A good reason to waste your gas would be to vote for a Republican you might not care for...

I wasted a lot of gas over the last 45+ years doing exactly that. Look where we are. No sale!

As Desanctus floats his lead balloons, won't he have to step down as FL Guber if he declares he is running?

I thought he was focused like a laser beam on his current legislative initiatives and didn't have time to run for the White House right now.

One of my Dad's favorite sayings was "Defecate or discommode", so either Ron needs to stop talking about running, declare he is running, step down as King of the Magic Kingdom, and f'ing run. Put up or shut up.

If he thinks Trump's comments are bad now, just wait until he actually declares and he'll get the full Bork, Trump, Gorsuch, treatment from the media with any fistfights he had in grade school, the girl coming out claiming Ron pulled her pigtails (or worse) in junior high, impugning his military record, who he had drinks with in college, etc., etc.

Get ready, Ron.

So in not voting, then you will help elect Democrats.

“ He couldn’t wait three more years before starting his campaign? Not three little years?”

His financiers, the Republican deep-state fascists, wouldn’t let him wait. And the problem for him is that he desperately needs their money…either in 2024 or 2028. They just waltzed up and told him if he wants the money, he has to run in 2024…because they are about only one thing, taking out Trump and thus protecting themselves. They won’t give him the money he needs in 2028 if he doesn’t help them destroy Trump in 2024. In 2028, they’ll just go find some attractive, pliable female candidate who needs them (like they almost all do) to give the money (with all it’s attached strings) to.

Democrat or Republican…it’s all about the fascism, stupid.

Because I love the country and absolutely loathe Democrats.

I love my country too. I honestly don't believe that John McCain or Mitt Romney would have been any different or better than Obama or Biden. So how is giving yet another person like them my vote helping the USA?

Not really though.
Biden didn’t get more votes than Trump in 2020. No matter what the lying media say.

So in not voting, then you will help elect Democrats.

Once again, those old eGOP lines are done. You need new material. You don't have the capacity to change my mind using the eGOP mind tricks. If I don't vote, I'm not electing anyone. Trump or bust.

I’m not trying to change your mind or anyone else’s mind.

I’m just saying , if conservatives don’t vote for certain Republicans, don’t even vote in an election, that action helps a Democrat get elected.

If you want to say that certain Republicans are too liberal for you, or Too Deep state for you, that issue can be discussed. Then the issue becomes the quality of Republican candidates who are nominated to run for office.

Trump is old. Almost as old as Biden. We need to thank him for his service to America and ask him to move on. And his relationship with the porn star was disgusting and sleazy. He’s an embarrassment.

Quote: ‘I’ve never heard of America First.”

It is Trump’s agenda. It is putting the interests and well being of America’s Actual citizens over the interests of: China, Mexico, the Deep State, The Chamber of Commerce, the DEI crowd, etc. It is this agenda that got Trump 81 Million Actual votes.

Trump gave birth to this agenda and it MUST continue long after Trump has gone.

To be clear, Trump is my choice for the nomination. But if he doesn’t get it, then I will ONLY support a candidate who is committed to his agenda.
