"I’ll be 61 at that time. This is pretty much what I thought would happen"

I’ll be 98 at that time. This is pretty much what I thought, back in the 1960's, would happen...
So, when I was very much younger, I made sure that I'd have a dependable retirement fund and Soc Sec (which I signed up for at 70) would be Soc Insecurity...

I retired at 64. Have really enjoyed it, even though I don’t have a lot of money. I have enough, and being free of office tyranny is worth it!

Can we get reparations?

I would like to see reparations for every U.S. citizen over 65 who was born in the U.S.A. And a toll tax on illegals on 50 percent of their income from all sources, for each and every year they are in the U.S. in order to fund the reparations.

Why we need the adults back in power.

Trump would likely have a pretty good fix for that.

My opinion is it will go ‘broke’ waaay sooner than 9 years.....probably 4-5 years..................................

As soon as a Republican is in the White House.

Of course not. I have lots of my own money saved. I don't even really need SS and the reason why is that I assumed it would go broke sometime during my life. I felt I should get in at 62 before the Ponzi scheme blows up.

I started paying substantial SS only at age 26 because I was getting a Ph.D. in electrical engineering. Then I monetized it. In the process I paid the max into SS every single year I worked. I've also been debt free since about 2000 or so and the only loan I ever took out was for a house. Never pay interest!

The SS administration sends you an accounting of all you've ever "contributed" to SS. I once did the exercise of calculating how much of my own money I would have had if they'd let me keep my own money and invest it as some reasonable rate of return. Afterwards, I wished I hadn't done that.

They have no problem giving money they have to borrow to welfare recipients now.

Maybe they should stop doing that now so they have money later for the people who actually deserve it.

Fantastic...I plan on working to at least age 70 and not taking SS benefits until then...so perhaps I will collect for a year before the irresponsible phucks in the fed.gov steal yet more of the money that I have worked hard for over the course of my lifetime.

I often wonder why the taxpayers of this country don’t go on strike and refuse to pay anything to Leviathan.

Inflation justifies increasing COLA. Increasing COLA justifies Inflation.

We are all economic illiterates.

Oh, I’ll receive that $3500.00 a month check “promised” me - buying that $180.00 loaf of bread and $200.00 quart of milk will be the problem...

Sounds good! I don’t drink except on rare occasions either but I would like to try that drink for dessert.

It’s very much an after dinner drink. My Grandma’s Grasshopper came in something of a martini glass served over a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was the early 1970’s and considered “fancy”, LOL. And that we would eat out as a whole family was rare, so this was her special treat just a couple times a year.
God bless her. She died just 4 years ago at 98. Amazing woman who lived large, laughed loud, and loved unconditionally.

If SS has to be cut, there is no justification to give money to Ukraine.

Time for them to give a 100% cut for illegals and those with no contributions getting funds from SS.

The program intended at the beginning has been bastardized by the same people today.
